I believe verizon does not even offer anything higher for residential customers anymore. Of course there is a previous article that the major service providers agreed to use standard equipment to connect their networks under the ruse that it will allow them to finally deliver their fiber to the curb pipe dream.

(Funny how the courts tell MS to unbundle it from the os.. so MS goes and gets it bundled into what people consider their pc's os on a huge # of pc's)

Wonder if AOL would warm up to Mozilla if the states sued AOL to unbundle a browser with their software and give people a choice of what to use.

Since netscape is no longer a viable alternative I can only hope that Mozilla and to a lesser degree Opera become a prevalent browser across all forms of operating systems.

However there is still the problem to be fixed where 90% of the webpages out there are IE compatible on a first basis and all other browsers come in second for support.

Course Linux Gaming Warcry I busted my butt to the bone to get it to works across Moz,Opera, and IE. And I'm just a flunky html geek :)

  7. The problem is on Star Wars Galaxies Auctions Afoot · · Score: 4, Interesting

In Asheron's Call they didnt have any rules against this at first. In time there was a lot of high level characters for sale on Ebay. Well a meanharted group of players bought up a bunch of accounts and begain to take over the worlds, most notably Darktide which is 24/7 Pvp and caused trouble on other worlds such as quest jumping among other things.

Now while any group of people can still level up the normal way on Darktide you ended up with a guild of players that could go out and kill any group of players in the game. It ruined things for many who played there and before they came there was a thriving sense of certian guilds owning certain areas of the game. These guys ruined it. SO many left the game never to return.

This can happen to any game and I'm sure SOE/Lucas Arts do not want it to happen. And I applaud any gaming company efforts to stop this.

Also unlike the real world where money = class in the virtual world a poor kid can become very rich. What becomes unfair is Rich kids becoming very rich in the game becuase his pocketbook is supporting his character while the poor kid now has to struggle to maintain his level of fun/play against the more well to do kids.

    Netscape
    I can go on..

It's true anytime someone comes up with a good idea MS goes ahead and builds it into their OS. Look at what they did to Java when it came out you had Sun Java and MS said nope.. lets make MS Java and make it work better with windows than Sun Java..

They took HTML and did the same thing.. Now many people have to program for IE and then the Other browsers as time permits.

Basically the inability of the US courts to stop Microsoft from doing what they continue to do is the same as the south winning the civil war.

Maybe the lack of sales stems from the fact that most songs on a cd are worthless crap and people know it and dont buy as much. The Radio is free and they're usually playing the songs you want to hear not the crappy stuff the artists put in the cd's or the publisher's version of the artist where they make the artist sing X songs for the artists written songs they put there.

And this "Oh my album isnt being sold" well hell after browsing through the leaflet I usually pile it all in a chest in teh closet with the other cd cases. On a list of reasons of buying a CD seeing what the album contains other than the cd is probably right under the last thing on the list.
