Never, but your question tells me you do not understand what I wrote. Maximize makes sense for applications that display enough data to use the entire screen. For example, a large spreadsheet where you want to see as much data as possible without slowly dragging an edge pixel by pixel to do it manually.
Putting forth an instance where it obviously does not make sense and assuming that there is never an instance when it does is the kind of blind "Apple is perfect and can never be improved." attitude from fanatics that I find tiresome.

For Windows users, what logically should be the maximize button (green +) is actually a "right size" button that performs application dependent actions.The response on all the Mac forums to requests for how to change the behavior to a maximize button is that nobody should ever need or want to maximize an application, because it is not the "Apple Way".
The addition of full screen apps seems to suggest even Apple recognizes there are times when using all the screen makes sense.
Even more bizarre is the suggestion that Thunderbolt replaces the mini-display port. Just as monitors start to come with mini-display port they switch to a new port type with zero support?
Amazon had a canned response for when a package was overdue a few days: "We are sorry to hear about your shipping problems, please wait 1 week and contact us again if the package has not arrived." One week later: "We are sorry to hear about your shipping problems, we can [send a replacement *or* the item is no longer in stock so we will refund it]. After this repeated over weeks and multiple packages, I decided it was not worth the hassle and canceled my Prime membership. Looking at the Amazon shipper forums, it appears little to no progress has been made since then. Fortunately there are alternative online retailers like Newegg that take shipping seriously.
I wish they would get the Prime 2-day shipping back in order. I used that service a *lot* until last October they switched to Ensenda as the carrier in my area. Suddenly the few 2-day Prime packages that got delivered at all were coming in 1-2 weeks. The story is the same with the other obscure carriers A1, On-Trac, Lasership, etc. After a while I gave up and canceled my Prime membership. Why pay extra for 2-day shipping that comes in 1 to 2 weeks or not at all?
Amazon needs to restore their Prime shipping program to a usable level of service before they start with unrelated freebies like streaming video.
I was hoping to see video of the tasering. The thought of that thieving blob of crud on the ground twitching and screaming makes me smile. Porky societal leeches like that should be airlifted to the Serengeti to feed the cheetahs and hyenas, which would also make entertaining video.
