We'll find out when Hearthstone comes out. They basically took all of their top talent and made a tiny supergroup to try and make a small scope, short dev time game.
Ignoring the fact that the Wii Mario Kart game is strictly inferior to its predecessors, none of those games "needed" to be on the Wii hardware. They did not take advantage of the motion controls in any significant or meaningful way.
They specifically said that the licensing system would work similarly to the current XBLA system. If accurate, what this means is that when you install a game for the first time on a console, it is tied both to that console and that profile. So any profile on that first install console can play it, even a profile that did not purchase it, but only on that piece of hardware, and the purchasing profile can play it on any machine. If it's a same-screen multiplayer game, when I'm playing it at my friend's house using my profile, he can even earn achievements and save game progress on his profile as long as he's player 2/3/4 and I'm player 1. But when I take my profile home or sign out of my profile, he no longer has access to that game. If he comes over to my house and brings his profile and plays it on my console, he has full access to the game as if he were its owner.
Basically, disc games are just being moved to the existing XBLA game licensing model that already exists.
It's running 3 VMs over a hypervisor. One is basically Windows 8 and does the apps and TV and movies and shit, the other is the Xbox OS which runs the games, and the third is a video compositor so you can seamlessly transition between them and have the little side pop-up things. It literally is running 3 OS instances at any given time.
1. I put toy in quotes specifically because I don't consider them toys and was describing other people's perception. 2. I don't give a shit about race.
If you're not using social engineering to get elevated privileges in your middle/high school's computer network, you're not really a computer geek. Of course, we never got caught (although I'm certain that my high school "computer class" teacher was perfectly aware and just didn't care or even approved as long as we didn't actually fuck up the network).
You might as well try to argue that because one child was a boy and the other a girl, that this story is evidence of sexism.
The more pertinent differences are: 1. One was an accident and one was intentional. 2. One will be perceived by the public as involving a bomb and one will be perceived by the public as involving a gun or possibly even a "toy." 3. There was a recent very public bombing. To fail to prosecute in what could be perceived by the public as a "bombing" case could cause negative political pressure against the DA. Despite the recent public shootings, there are many with a lot of political clout who would see prosecution of a BB gun incident as a move toward stricter gun control and act against it.
I'd say these factors likely weighed a lot more heavily than either child's race. I may not agree that they should be considered factors, and I find it likely that this case will be thrown out, but I have a feeling that if the children's races were reversed (or the same), the situation would remain identical, except we wouldn't have to listen to idiotic stories about how the DA is "racist."
Because the DA doesn't have to worry about gun control politics in the second case, and everyone is afraid of "bombs," especially in light of the events at Boston.
Whether this has anything to do with race is of secondary importance.
That was exactly his point. Read the Slashdot summary again. It uses the BB gun incident as evidence of racist behavior and nothing else. You'd have a better time trying to make an argument about gun control politics than race.
People do video walkthroughs because they're easily monetizable. I can make a video for a game and put it up on Youtube and get ad partner money. If I write a text walkthrough and put it on GameFAQs I'm pretty sure I get exactly $0 forever. If I try to host it myself and put ads on my site, it's likely no one will ever read it because people will just go to Youtube, GameFAQs, or the game's wikia site if it's popular enough to have one.
It sucks, but that's how it is. Expect more video walkthroughs in the future.
"For once"? The UK has always been way ahead of the US in police state tactics.

It was a serviceable KotOR 3 with 60 hrs of MMO grind tacked on for no discernible reason.
They've been losing subs, but I SERIOUSLY doubt they've been losing cash.

Name a single Wii game that has stood the test of time. Just one.
THQ was killed by Udraw. If anything, its death reinforces the "blockbuster" release model.
Bitcoin NEVER afforded real anonymity. It only afforded slight obfuscation. See: http://anonymity-in-bitcoin.blogspot.com/2011/07/bitcoin-is-not-anonymous.html

The Retron is garbage. Bad sound, video issues, etc.

Technically they call them "employees."
You missed the key phrase: "until well into their lifecycles." He did not say: "every console ever made."
PS2 definitely sold at a loss for its first few years. I don't know about the PS1.
Maybe they're going outside.

There's a reason I put it in quotes.

Bingo.

I this case, I would say "bomb" related.

I realize this is a hard concept for most people who live in California to grasp, but not everyone lives in California.

It sure is. And the Ouya ain't got shit.
