You know, I'd like to see these cartoon shorts done as a proper cartoon series, done by someone who can do it justice... (some anime artists could certainly pull off an epic feel for it, like cowboy bebop...hell, even the folks that do Justice League would be better)
But come on... Samurai Jack, while decent enough as a story... is bad on the visuals. I've seen more interesting visuals in Flash movies... looking at the promo pic someone linked to... this'll be the same style... ugh.
Well duh. There's going to be a fair chunk of time between Ep3 and Ep4... think about it... probably oooh... 20 years if the rumor about Luke and Leia being born in Ep3 is true.
*snorts* Not much should happen that you can't guess though... Empire grips the galaxy, people are turned agsint the Jedi, Jedi are killed, the independant rebel groups start, the Corellian Treaty is signed, creating the Alliance to Restore the Republic...
It's a dark time, and one that when you think of it'd make a rather dull movie... they're probably going to end Ep3 with a feeling of knowing what will happen in the span between the movies, without going into details.
I remember this issue coming up back when I was involved with Qbasic programming (don't laugh, there's some pretty good stuff that came out of there, all things considered). The results found were pretty much the same as yours. Not much in the way of good, free to use tilesets.
There was a push to get such things made, but as far as I know, most people outgrew Qbasic at that point, graduating to C++ and other languages... glancing though a few Allegro sites, the lack of open tilesets is still the case.
Time to look for some artists who want to contribute...
Naw... little engeneering knowledge is needed... what you need to know is how visualise what you're making, and think about what you could use to build it... it's improvising, not structured design. The experts help a lot in doing the designing.
For the actual skills, you're best off getting your hands on a book on welding (an older one from the 60's - 70's are great, they're more often written for the lay person/DIY'er, even if they mainly teach you arc welding... little used on the show, but the knowledge can be transfered to other types of welding), something on car engines (again older is good, most of the engines used are older, with less electronics to fail... getting a book on newer vehicles maybe a good idea too, so you can put your skills you use fixing your vehicle, or your friends).
Beyond that, practice! Learn how to weld, not just text book, but do it... same with dealing with motors... learn the stuff... apply it.
Honestly though, being a woman doesn't limit you in any way... the only limits that I can see are based on your physical limitations (most women I've arn't extreamly muscular, but if you actually do as much of the physical labor as you can, you'll develop muscles... not pretty, show off type muscles, but effective ones, even if they're not as prominant... which is the best kind of muscles to have, IMO)
Also... learn about the safty rules with whatever equipment you're using... being blinded by a arc flash is not a fun thing.
*wipes tea off the screen* It's funny because it's often true... though, mormons are more likely to think it of mormon white males... not white males in general...
"Raising the bar" I already do more work than all the reast of my bloody coworkers... and now I need to do more?
"You have to take a step back to get higher" Uh... hello, earth to management. I want a better paying job, I don't want to go to a lesser paying job in hopes that you'll promote me, and I'll still get paid less...
Don't forget that SSS also did the D&D 3rd Edition version of Ravenloft.
SSS is a good company, however, they tend to do things contrary to the way D&D players expect (IE, with Ravenloft 3E you need both the setting book and the DM book to get all the info on the domains, rather than 1 book with all the info, like most other D&D Setting book), probably because they're used to the White Wolf system of books (Rule Book, Players Guide, DM book)
Ironically, those can't (legally) be imported to the USA for some strange reason. No clue of the reason why... but right on the shipping boxes it's stated that, and if you look on the website, of all the countries that their sold in, the United States isn't one of 'em.
Actually, a number of games are useing Gamespy as their in game online game finder... Unreal Tournament 2003, Neverwinter Nights, Battlefield 1942, all have Gamespy packaged within them. Probably plenty of others
Either roll back to a differnt version of the Drivers (cat 2.4 I beleive works with NWN) or read through the NWN forums to get the EXE moded to work with those F***ed up drivers.
Actually, you're off base. The issue is with the Linux -Server- Software for NWN. It's buggy even on proper linux servers that serve other things no problem.
It's probably simply due to the fact that it had less development time than the windows dedicated server, as well as the fact that the programmers have more experiance with windows and it's quirks.
NWN is a great game, but there's so many little issues that crop up and are slowly getting patched over, or worked around by the player community... heck, database support (even though it looks like it'll probably be flat file support) isn't slated until march...
Price, simple as that. They're trying to keep the price as low as possible, and adding wireless supporty would likely as $50 to $100 to the price, for functionality not everyone would use.
The consumer base (not more geek minded users) hasn't really started to adopt wireless in a major way, while they're getting into devices like this.
Really, what's to wonder, when you think about it. preventing the blood from clotting would be a good thing for a vampire bat, as they don't suck blood, they make a wound with their incisors and lap at the blood that flows from the wound.
The fact that the saliva from a vampire bat prevents blood from clotting is well known I beleive, likely first realised when a wounded animal's wound flowed for longer than normal. Just the notion of applying that knowedge in this manner is really new. though, if you think about it, it makes you wonder "why didn't they think of this sooner?"

Pickup truck... some fertalizer, some diesel fuel... wonderful bomb... hell of a lot more powerful than a piddly little rocket engine...
vulcanised rubber.

You haven't ever been to winnipeg have you?
1) It's cold. Damn cold at this time of year. Being warm is cheaper than suffering frostbite.
2) Spring time the potholes or sinkholes will swallow you up and you'll never be seen again.
3) Summer time, the mosquitoes will carry you off and suck you dry
4) You spend the rest of the time in fear of nature... you want to dare it in fall?
Well... it depends on the scale of things... 120 years is 1/5th the times my ancestors spent feuding with each other...
I have mod points, but damn... this deserves peanuts *throws peanuts at you*
Baaaaaad pun.
Extreamly corny sense of humour...
Sounds like the folks in alt.callahans
Not often enough that doing simething like that would catch even a small porion of Spam...

I doubt that's the reason... they'd be pulled pretty quickly from the market in most countries if that was a true issue.

Hope it works out...ATI, while they are definatly good on the hardware side of things, needs to get a clue on how to develop drivers.

maybe that was all that they managed to get a licence for?

I'd settle for better drivers and less new graphics cards.
Cat 2.5 drivers are hosed... makes some games lock up hard... though, I do admit, I like my 7500, once I loaded the 2.4 drivers.
The bleeding edge... just make sure it's not your blood that's on it.
I was more a fan of Rawcopy myself. Though, a few games I had to break down and use other programs...
