So what you are saying is that a game that has a thousand or so small animated characters on screen would not benefit what-so-ever from hardware and programming APIs designed solely to remove most of the graphics processing from the CPU? You do realize how much calculation is going on behind the scenes? I think any amount more that they can free from the cpu would benifit the game tremendously. *sarcasm*Plus I mean we get globe view. I mean that is by far the most useful feature of the game.*/sarcasm*
Also, I really do not see how any of the Quake engines, or the Unreal engines, or actually any FPS engine could possibly be used with a topdown/isometric style strategy game. I think the only thing in common would be actual direct3d/opengl libraries. Of course I could also be pulling this out of my ass.
On a side note, what is the deal with gaming companies releasing games that do not run right on ATI cards? Civilization 4 is by far an excellent example. I'm guessing thats what chipset you are using, no?

is that howstuffworks does not count as a source when writing a paper.
Civilization, Age of Empires, Rise of Nations... pretty much any strategy game that involves humans and waging wars. How about MMORPGS. Killed plenty of humans in Ultima Online back in the day.
You know, while their at it, why don't they just ban life?
You could replace the receptionist with one that doesn't speak very loud. Ours is uber quiet and I can barely hear her in our section of the building. Now, if somone else gets on there.. WHOA NELLY!
and the British news service is anymore trustworthy?? Personally I think any news service that is affiliated with any country is going to be somewhat biased towards the country they reside in. I mean, CNN isn't going to bash the United States, and the BBC isn't going to go out and bash Great Britian. The day they start doing that, lots of people affiliated with those news agencies are going to have a lot of "accidents" in the following weeks...
...is this going to stop people from hacking into school networks. Maybe if the schools would beef up their security a little, maybe it would curtail most, if not all, the problem in a particular school district. I mean, my high schools security was a joke. Novell 3?? give me a break. If they're worrying about important documents being looked at... maybe they shouldn't store them on computers with outside access.
Honestly.. it is "mucho leet" to have a box you built yourself.. not some dork sitting amongst a bunch of other dorks building the same computer over and over again. Getting a Dell or *cough* Gateway system is the lazy way to go and everyone knows you can build a better and faster computer than any of those tards can build for the same $799. Tech support? If you're building it yourself, you shouldnt need tech support because you know you did it right in the first place.
Okay.. sure a good game that has good force feedback is hard to come by, but games such as nfs - porsche unleashed have got it right. When I went from a normal steering wheel to my m$ sidewinder force feedback, it was a wonderful change. Now for this device, maybe you could use it as a teaching tool so when your walking thru a dark alley, you could use some of those new fighting moves you learned in the latest fighthing game instead of getting your ass kicked by some two-bit punk who figures "eh, he's a geek, this'll be easy." Wouldn't you like to kick HIS ass instead? Besides, you wouldn't have to go pay thousands of bucks to get martial arts training. We all know gaming makes us better in mind and body... wait where did we hear that before...
Ok, what if your site was called www.iaimtoplease.com and you specialized in a personal escort service. Personally i think that would pretty helarious if AOL thought that THAT site was violating thier use of aim. A new feature on upcoming versions of AIM?? Heh, send your buddy a escort...
Yah I have to agree with this. I am part of the DOS generation and i grew up playing 2D scrollers and Wolfenstein, and Doom. I was ridiculed too when i was in Elementary school, Middle school (a lot here), but not so much in highschool because i moved and was a band nerd =P. I also built computers (still do) and felt rejected most of the time. Just learn to ignore them, value the friends you have now because they can be a life saver sometimes. Just remember. You have a gift and if you develop on it, can be making hella more money than they ever will when ya finish school:) Besides, you got all of us to relate with, heh.

Totally...
From a marketing standpoint, I think calling them The Metropolitans would be more appropriate.
Pick up my cricket bat and whack them over the head. What else?
