I assume you are talking about the Iraq war and assassinating Saddam, but are assassin's really such a good idea? Many may say that Saddam deserved to be assassinated due to the torture and oppressive regime against his own people, but that's all relative. What about Bush? He hasn't done a lot to discourage torturing enemy combatant's and terrorists. Would it be okay for some other nation that has even stricter human rights standards than we do try to assassinate Bush? Many other nations in the world don't exactly view the US in the best possible light right now, and relatively speaking, they might view the US as just as bad as Iraq was/is. Many US citizens would think twice about preferring assassinations over conquest if assassinations were attempted against their president, but maybe that's just because it would be against their own president and not because of the moral edifications of assassinations in general.

Another problem I have is that since about version 1.3 (or earlier?), Mozilla, and later Firefox, have been unstable and crashing a lot (e.g. once or twice a week under heavy load). I don't know is this is a Linux-only issue (I only use Red Hat 9 and Fedora core 2), but they seem to have a memory leak and that's not good if it creeps into the 1.0 release.
It's not just a Linux issue; a friend of mine sees it on Windows XP, too.

Keep in mind that these are two different bugs. His is crashing under heavy load (which, incedently, has happened to me several times), while what your describing probably isn't even a memory leak. And btw, this textbox glitch is fixed in the latest firefox release.

Actually, IIRC, most astronomers now believe that the reason that mars doesn't have an atmosphere is because of a reverse runaway greenhouse effect.

Mars is just far enough away from the sun that the CO2 from its atmosphere started to condense into the rocks and water (which was present at the time this was happening), this caused the temperature to lower, causing more CO2 to go away, lowering the temp and so on.
This also explains why Venus has a thick hot atmosphere.
You can find more if you google for it.

The problem with doing that is the fact that you would probably end up spending far more on propane to keep the balloon up, than it would cost to be on the internet. Even the most costly internet service you can find would be cheaper than keeping a balloon up. A single 3hr ride costs about 200$, not to mention the fact that people might get suspicious about that balloon that is always hovering over their house. Good luck finding a way to make doing that profitable.
