The first problems arose when I got a "shadow" with my first article, any contribution from my part was changed, reverted or simply deleted. Most of the few articles started by me, ended 100% different in just a few months. Ok, maybe my thing isn't writing but all my images were deleted as well, even with a CC license.

I'm not interested to contribute anymore, life is too short.

I was expecting a community of charity workers with great ideas to help developing nations, or something along those lines, of people with really awesome ideas that just need some money to get "kickstarted".

They don't have value to you. Kickstarter is clearly stated as a site to rise money for creative projects, not for charity or help poor countries. We all can create a better world in so many ways, and this is only one.

I live in Mexico, and became a fan of BSG after buying the mini-series in DVD. Didn't understood this was the beginning of a tv series after a couples of years, when the first season aired at Universal almost at midnight. Then the second season was moved with no explanation to another channel (TNT LA) at dinner time and the third season to another channel (I-Sat or something) almost two years after that. Season 4 never saw the light here.

I don't know what happened, but if I as a fan didn't have opportunity to follow the show correctly, imagine what happened with the common, non-geek public.

Their fulltime team was around 12 people. Consider a salary of 2,000 euros per person, for a full year (the length of the production), this goes to 288,000 euros just in salaries. They had to move people to Nederlands, pay for the space of the blender foundation, voice actors, film print, Dolby editing and license, etc. When you start to consider real costs then 400,000 euros is not much for a 19 minute movie.

Proprietary or not, the cost of the license here is the minimum part, You pay a Maya license with a couple of artist's salary, the most expensive part is actually the salaries.

The point Blender Foundation want to make is that Blender is suitable to make real life projects. And nobody can neglect it.
