  1. If games have to happen they should be happening in Greece, there should be permanent stadiums there, they could be maintained by everybody who cares about the games.

    agreed 100%

  2. How long has the smart watch market been a thing? I can't imagine it has been too terribly long and it's already declining. The phone as an everything device is pretty firmly embedded in the consciousness of the populace. These other devices like smart watches and to a lesser extent, the tablet will most likely die off if they cannot come up with a reason to have it more than it's just more convenient than the phone. The phone is pretty damn convenient.

  3. Luckily the sites I frequent don't do this but several one-off sites that I happen upon during random searches will be set up this way. I have just been going without whatever ultimately useless information I would have gotten from them.

  4. Good. Maybe next people will stop requiring javascript too. Too many sites require javascript to be enabled just to click on a damn link.

I was working for a government help desk and it was revealed to us that our contract was ending. Well, the point of giving notice is to give the company an opportunity to hire and train your replacement. There were no replacements coming so I just decided to give a 1 day notice. I can no longer work for that company due to my exit strategy however the company itself is currently not projected to last another 3 years on it's current trajectory so I felt that this was not a particularly valuable bridge to maintain.

There might be a link between the slowdown in app installs and the sale of new smartphones. I have no data to back this up. Just spitballing. I know when I got my phone I installed pretty much everything I thought I might use within the first few days of getting it. I hardly ever install anything else on it now, having had it for at least a year.

  10. I would mod this up as informative because it is a fantastic example of what Eric was pointing out, getting caught up in political garbage rather than focusing on the collective ascension of the species beyond the small-fry world views that so many of us have. I won't though because AC posted it and its hard to promote a post filled with so much venom.

I bought my most recent panel right around Thanksgiving. It seems like all the manufacturers like to trot out their least expensive models around that time of year for their "sales". I was able to get a 48" 1080p panel with 2 HDMI ports, no smart features at all for under 400 bucks. It was exactly what I was looking for. Since I bought it a week before black friday I didn't have to deal with crowds either.

If it becomes an issue and I lose my job over it, oh well. I will get another job.

If 50% of all misogynistic tweets come from women, then it can fairly easily be extrapolated that the whole of modern culture hates women equally. If that's the case, maybe it's the women that need to change?

Freedom to me isn't trying to fit in with my peers and posting nudie pics online because its the new normal in your hypothetical world; it would be being free to choose for myself what I want other people to know about me. I think it is far more advantageous for me to control other people's opinion of me insofar as I only give people information I care to give them. This allows me to be less anchored by other people's thoughts about who they think I am. It is very important to remember that nobody knows who anyone else really is. We only have facsimiles created in our minds built on incomplete information with the blanks filled in with assumptions.

  18. get your munchies. get your redbox. get everything you want together BEFORE you get high. We should just have PSAs to educate novice stoners about planning ahead so they don't have a reason to drive after they get high because once you're there, it takes something pretty major to get you up and moving until it wears off. At least that's been the case for me.
