throwing away the importance of modern math and CS theories is suicidal. Never had to do with problems due to rounding errors, for example ? Try fixing them without somebody with skills in CS and math! The author of TFA is probably somebody involved with the development of web interfaces, and we just appreciated the results of many years of progress in web development.
...we should take care to start a planetary magnetic field. Without it, every attempt to colonize Mars is doomed to failure. Radiations will hit the martian soil, damaging living beings, and disturbing the chemistry of the atmosphere in a very unpredictable way. In general, planets with no tectonics activities (i.e. volcanoes, quakes, etc.) are not suited for hosting life on the long run.

AI: 87% success
Chinese doctors: 66% success
Flip of a coin: 50% success
Chinese doctors are a bit closer to the coin flipping rather than to AI performance. Maybe that, rather praising AI, we should instead blame the professional capacities of the doctors. Furthermore, consider that since diagnosis is mostly based on images, AI can (and probably does) perform some basic image processing that can greatly enhance the detection of subtle features. To my experience doctors usually work with raw images (and usually are trained to do so). Teaching them to use some basic image processing on Xray images could enhance their skills at little cost.
