True about the death penalty, although if the police/gov't agents don't follow procedures, your right to shoot someone that busts into your home/business can be protected.
In Texas, the law states that you have the right to shoot anyone that forces entry into your home for pretty much any reason. If you open the door and let them walk in, have a cup of tea with them, then shoot them, that's a problem. However, if a policeman dressed in street clothes runs in to your 7-11 with a ski mask on and a gun draw, and doesn't identify him or herself, you can blast away. This actually happened last year near Dallas. A female cop did this and got shot twice, ended up in a wheelchair, and since she didn't properly identify herself (all she had to do was uncover her face and yell 'police don't shoot'), there were no charges pressed against the 7-11 owner.
Also keep in mind that Texas has gotten strict with all the John Waynes that like to shoot people. Any crime involving handguns or rifles instantly gets the maximum penalty in court, no questions asked and no leniency available to the judge.

Mods, what's so interesting about this post? Konqueror has had tabbed browsing for quite some time. Kwallet *is* a new feature but looks unfinished in some respects.
It depends on where the coolant temperature sensor is located. I've had a car with a leaky heater core hose (under the hood) and the coolant system just emptied itself completely on a hot summer day. The gauge shot up.
I have a hard time believing that flash runs fine on that configuration. I have an athlon xp2100, 768mb of pc2700 running linux, and flash loses sync with audio CONSTANTLY. Then again, the flash plugin from macromedia is crap, so maybe that's the real issue.
You know, that's exactly what I was thinking. The second I saw their motherboard of choice listed (the nforce3) I moved back a few inches. They just suck HARD under linux, and it's all because of nvidia's beta-quality nforce drivers.
I would have picked a VIA chipset anyday for this test. Although VIA has had issues in the past under linux, these days it's better than the nforce, for maturity and stability if nothing else.
Internet browsing happily on a 100mhz machine? Yeah right. I guess you've never seen Flash, shockwave or java before at that speed. Regardless of your OS, if it's graphical it needs speed. I'd say a 450mhz machine is base for this day and age..unless pine and links are your cups of tea.
"My car doesn't have a special fuel purge if I decide to fill it full of kethup"
That's not really a relevant analogy. Something more analogous would be 'my car won't explode if I don't put any coolant in the radiator'. Your car will show the temperature steadily increasing and it may well let you get it hot enough to start a fire or seize the engine. A Pentium engine OTOH would turn itself off after the temperature threshold reached a certain point, thereby saving itself.
What Intel fanboys don't realize is that AMD left it up to the motherboard manufacturers to add proper thermistors beneath the ZIF socket where the cpu goes. While some believe it was irresponsible and some motherboard companies just forgot to add this altogether, most reputable companies have done it for awhile.
You could take issue with the fact that any AMD chip will self-destruct with no heat sink or without adequate cooling, or you could figure you're a total moron for not putting coolant in your radiator and you reap what you sow. Many ways to look at this issue.
It'd be funny if Metroids sucked power, but according to Metroid mythology, they produce it. Metroid Zero mentions this in the intro IIRC..maybe it was Super Metroid. Unlimited source of power, those little buggers are.
What's the big deal with a boob? Every kid sees tits from the second they are born (they depend on them basically). Seeing a boob on tv may just have made the kids hungrier, since it was dinnertime for alot of people.
When I saw it today I went and made a glass of chocolate milk for some strange reason.
You need to get Ad-aware and Spybot search and destroy. Google for both of them. Also run msconfig and disable startup items that don't look like they belong there (cryptic names, weird install locations).
Finally, STOP USING IE! Just quit using it altogether. Stop using Outlook and Outlook Express also. These are like the goatse man's ass when it comes to security holes. How do you think all those viruses and worms snuck in? Get Mozilla and setup mozilla mail. Problem solved.
Mandrake typically increments version numbers yearly, as a reflection of the serious updates the distro receives.
The transition from 9.2 to 10 is a major one. Included will be kde 3.2 and kernel 2.6.x. Mandrake 9.2 has kde 3.1.3 and kernel 2.4.22-10mdk. The step up from kernel 2.4 to 2.6 warrants a new version number in Mandrake's methodology.
I've run Mandrake since version 6.5 and this is how they've always done it. Each year gets a new version. Once you understand it, it makes sense. From a purely linux standpoint it looks stupid, I know.
Community release != beta release. It's a finished OS, and Mandrake 10 is currently in beta. The way Mandrake normally does it goes something like this:
1. Release beta 1 through 4
2. Release release candidates 1 through 4
3. Final release.
The process is usually around 6 months or so. There is a cooker freeze that takes place at some point during the process where all new packages get locked into a specific version number. This cuts down on problems later in the beta testing phases.
By summer Mandrake 10 should be available since beta 1 has already hit the net. When the distro is ready, mdk10 will allow ISO downloads to club members FIRST, while everything is available via ftp mirrors. Next comes the shipping boxed sets, finally a box set on store shelves and freely downloadable ISOs. The boxed set/iso downloading scheme is new and while some people have complained, it's really in Mandrake's best interests to do it this way.
What they ultimately GET is self-evident. If you're downloading betas and release candidates and providing feedback (via mailing lists, bugtraq, whatever), what you end up getting is a more stable distro with features yourself and others have requested. Input is valuable in projects of this scale *particularly* with the unbelievable variety of x86 hardware. What works for you may not work for someone else with identical hardware, differing only by something as miniscule as a single piece of usb hardware.
That'd be funnier if Sammy Davis was still alive. You can always substitute Whoopi Goldberg for any comedian-who's-black-and-jewish-telling-a-joke statement.
Zionism, as I understand it, revolves around the belief that Zion is God's chosen land and Jewish folks are God's chosen people. For one group to believe they are god's chosen is pure folly (from a christian viewpoint) and I can see how one could draw lines between that and racism. However it's unusual for the UN to make an announcement to this effect. Then again, look at what the Israeli government does to people that aren't Jewish in their country. Their system of rights is all fucked up...you can't even get buried in Israel if you're not Israeli.
I guess I might see it differently if I were living there, but I don't.
Not only would Darl be unable to take those incoming calls from reporters who want to write his spin, but they'd miss out on untold sales possibilities.
Wait a second, so you're saying that SCO actually sells something? Man the world really is going to end soon.

Well, there's plutonium, and there's depleted plutonium. There's botulism, then there's 'purified strains' of botulinum toxins which create Botox. In high doses it can be deadly since it's a toxin after all, but in small doses it can knock ten years or more off your face.
Not like I would ever do something as asinine as youth-faking facial surgery, but I'm a married man and as we all know, men gain distinction while women age. It's unfortunate but that's the western perception of aging for the sexes.

Yeah really, what's next? Running Linux on Janet Jackson's boob? I mean, the silicon is already there and there's plenty of metal.. (bu dum ching!)

You can always turn features off to bring up the framerate in id's games, I bet the XBox version will either:
A. have the graphics turned down, or
B. have everything on full quality because Xbox gamers don't mind 10fps games.
I've seen awful framerates on lots of games for the Xbox and nobody seems to care.

Yeah, I was lucky enough to buy it before my job got outsourced to India. It's the one thing I'll always cherish *snif*.
"There is an purpose for every screw, and a screw for every purpose."
Yeah it was a great poster until your English teacher busted in and tore it down.
It goes in your vaccuum cleaner, eventually.
At least, that's usually when I find all my leftover screws.

Three screws? For what? Most of mine do just fine with 2 each. That way I always have just enough for the next drive. :)
Another way to put it, as I'm planning, is the Community is what's going on my desktop, and the Official is what's going on my servers.
