"The browser wars are over, Nobody needs a new browser." I think people thought that too after IE dominated Netscape... and we were left with a stale IE6 until Firefox shook things up.
Actually not really, if you're speaking of the size of the portions, because it is determined all by calories (and type of calories), which can vary depending on what you eat regardless of the size of the meal. e.g. the weight of a big mac obliviously has much more calories than the same weight in fruit. Plus, eating less doesn't really help much if they have a very sedentary lifestyle.
Then the issue must have been something else or you got a crap card, because when I built my computer with the same GPU video card (Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4870) I played the hell out of NFS:MW at full settings.
extremists anything is bad, but just because they are 'muslim' doesn't mean they are extremist. Is that honestly your way of thinking? That's like thinking anyone who's christian are instantly the same as the westboro baptist church
I sometimes wonder if there will be a time when we (US Government... or any government) wont look at someones race or religion as a threat and start looking more at the individual's past actions instead. I guess the only way that could change would be if we got more diverse people into government leadership positions... or if people would stop being so scared at things they don't understand. Our fear is usually the result of our own downfall.
I personally preferred the version numbers or years. When they changed it Me, XP, Vista, and then 7, 8, it annoyed the hell out of me. At least with the version numbers 3.11 or years Windows 98 it was easier to follow. I am glad they finally made Windows 10 kernel ver 10. Now Office is kind of a different story because for one instance they had XP but then switched back to years.
I wish something like that could happen, but I doubt most governments would ever agree or follow any kind of treaty. People also talked about solving world hunger... We already grow enough food to feed more than the people on this planet, but there are still numerous people starving and dying because of it. Not to mention corporations that "spy" on their customers to give something away for free, like facebook. Wouldn't be hard for the governments to get that info. I respect Snowden for what he did, but governments are afraid of privacy and encryption.
Regardless of what people think of blackberry, I think that this method might help them. Android is a very popular (as in 89% of the world market popular), and the fact that they are giving you an android with a slide-out blackberry keyboard allows them to enter into a niche market for people who want a real qwerty keyboard. Practically every other smartphone developer has dropped their physical keyboards a few years back. I know because I tried looking for one for one of my family members as a christmas present a couple years ago, but couldn't do it because I would have to buy a 3 year old device.
That's been Mozilla's method lately. They decide what they want for the browser, and not the used, which is why there was a lot of customization removed from the browser. Their only excuse is to use an extension, in which needs to be signed by them.
I am starting to think that most browsers are just moving to the casual user and making them dumb-down and not caring for any poweruser. I mean, Opera did the same thing, dropped their code and just making a worthless browser based on chromium, losing all of their features that was in 12.x./2cents
Meh, i'm just waiting for computers vs computers. I want to see if they computationally breakdown... And hopefully more entertaining then the "game preview play" before you start playing arcade games.
My eye sight (and weight) starting going bad after college. I figure it was because I was spending more time sitting down and staring at a computer when I got my first desk job than before (where I used to usually sit at the computer only at home or at a class per semester).
when it becomes malicious?
tbh, I think it's when software does something that the user wasn't expecting or want and feels that they can't trust that software anymore.
I've owned two HP computers, basically my first one that wasn't a hand-me-down in 1997 (HP Pavilion 8140) and my most recent one I got this year (Envy Pheonix). So I decided to read up on the history of HP's CEOs and it seems that they have really lost their way after Lewis Platt resigned back in 1999. It says a lot on what happened to the company based on the Wikipedia entry on Platt's page:
"Late in his tenure, Platt was often criticized by investors and some HP executives for focusing on progressive values and long-term results. Platt's detractors said that company needed a more cold-blooded competitiveness and higher octane leadership to succeed, that his "pragmatic, nothing-fancy approach" seemed out of touch with the "go-go demands of the late 1990s," and that he had failed to capitalize on the Internet boom."
So the investors and executives cared more for the quick buck instead of long-term growth of the company. What a shame...
But I agree that 10Mbps is enough to fit the 'needs' for most people because most general people just go on facebook, checking email, and youtube videos. Plus it's enough for someone to find a job to get better income so that they can afford a better connection if they want. 10Mbps will give you what you need. It's really when you do high-end streaming, playing online, or torrents/backing up online when the bigger is better.
To be honest, I grew up downloading gigs of data off of AOL 'cerver' chat rooms on a 56k modem. Not sure how I did it really besides leaving my computer on all night to download. I figure I could do fine nowadays on a 20Mbit connection even though I do a lot online, but eh, it's more cost effective to harass TW for a higher plan and their advertised rates.
Maybe in 2001

But does trump use an Android or a Blackberry? THAT'S the real question
Because the corporation has not been dissolved?
ooohhhh.... so you're the reason pocket became a 'feature' since you can save pages w/ it :p

What did you change? i'd like to know.... can I buy some of your snake oil? :)

Those were some good ol' days. I honestly think Flash advertisements and dumping loads of jpegs/pngs on a website killed efficiency.
