I am familiar with the German media landscape and people have been complaining about the lying press for years now. Especially the state-funded news stations. Technically they do not have a lying press, but a press that very often omits and twists, but that is besides the question.
What will happen is that people will report every news statement from those state funded medias on facebook. Facebook will then face the possibility of effectively removing everything from those medias, or pay a hefty fee.
Once the politicians realize what will happening they will retract that law, after all it is frequently happening that they move into the board of those media agencies after their term is over, despite the supposed neutrality of the state funded press.
In short its because idiots are too stupid to realize their own stupidity that experience is derided as outdatedness. Of course a certain addiction to the "new and shiny" is probably what got many interested into CS in the first place, so it will be hard to get rid of that completely
This is then bolstered by employers knowing exactly that some 23 year old will work insane hours and is much more easily exploitable than a veteran. Here comes the Dunning-Kruger effect on the employers side: They too are unable to realize that the code produced by a newbie can be orders of magnitude worse than that produced by a veteran. Sure the LoC per day look impressive but it is not at all a measure for productivity.
Sure his tweets about having been spied upon by Obama on Saturday (?) sounded like the usual tinfoil hattery, but now I am starting to think that there may be a grain of truth in it.

If the students are not able to function at the expected level we should either change what is taught to them, how it is taught or by whom it is taught. A well thought out curriculum and a motivated (well paid, unburdened by nonsensical administrative overhead) teacher goes a long, long way even for a merely average or slightly below average child.
Your data analysts should instead switch to a real tool for data analysis: R and sqlite for data storage. Using Excel for serious data analytics is like using Horse and Buggy for goods transportation: Sure it works but there are so many better tools for it out there.

With open source software like Firefox it is more a failure of having the right people (engineers) at the right positions (the decision making ones). Instead they are left chasing the latest widget "feature" that no one ever asked for. For a long time I thought that the "standard" Firefox was already bad, until I switched to my Tablet 80% of the time: Firefox for Android is just plain torture. Multiple crashes every day. Most of the time when clicking on a text field or adress bar, FF apparently hates those. other times its idling and crashes for no reason. Not to mention its hunger for memory. Unfortunately it is the only browser there that has all the features I need via addons (Mostly adblock and noscript). Opera is much better, unfortunately its adblocking is faulty and it does not recognize my hardware keyboard at all.
