Seriously 'Quitter'? These are just people changing jobs; never mind the ones that were laid off or fired. I guess it's too much in the eyes of WSJ to let the peons change their allegiance. I guess they'd prefer the slave workers to keep working until the same place until they die; without raise. Since this is 4th of July, I give a big FU to WSJ and hooray for some independence and dignity for the average worker.

Also just from reading the summary, their findings seem to actually indicate the chance of dying does not worse after a certain age but that does not imply no limit on longevity.

  13. Not discussing whether it is even scientifically feasible, I abhor the idea that people will live "forever" in a youthful human body. Because the last thing that this world needs is the ability for the rich and powerful to live even longer, like some real life vampires that will literally prey on the rest of humanity. Before they solve aging, they better work on improving humanity itself, because biologically we are all selfish monkeys due to our genetics.

US is a much more hypocritical country and a greater threat to the rest of the world in terms of starting war, given its terrible records of warmongering. And idiots who keep shouting China is a totalitarian regime is either a troll and/or no idea how China actually operate. Its government is a meritocracy that has election from its party member. It is not really that much different than in US, instead in US you have the illusion that you vote matters, when all you are doing is just choosing one of the two chosen people (unless someone like Trump comes along, in which case all hell breaks loose and the MSM go apeshit.

Because in Canada they actually care more about the common people interests versus big corporations; which is what democracy should strive to be, politicians voted in by the public should actually look after common people's interest. I'd argue it is even common sense that RIAA or whatever big corporation interest group should not have the power to bankrupt an average consumer who is not commercially profiting, but again in Canada it is also quite unheard of for someone to go bankrupt due to medical issue either.

No shit that US drugs companies care more about $ than helping people, in fact I would say they prefer to make a killing (pun intended) on it. To a greater extent, the same argument goes for/against universal health care as it is really about how much a country values about its citizen's health versus profitability of the its medical/drug industry.
