    The technology is in personalization of content. Adware companies are actually somewhat advanced in this area. Data-mining and such.

    That's a nice thing to think, but you'd also be "buying" the employees who came up with Gator and all that nifty "personalization" associated with it. Personally, I wouldn't want to work with somone that skanky.

    In terms of Linux it's hard to tell how many installs there are, but if you look around at Netcraft, you'll see that 30-40% of sites use IIS.

    Ummm, nope. It's at 20.26 percent, and consistently falling.

    If I had a "safe", simple way to set up WebDav for disparate single users or a few dozen I would. Google has the might (not tech... yet) to let calendar clients communicate pretty easily using the general 'Net rather than specialized one-off boxes.

    So. If they'll support Moz, let 'em support Sunbird.

    The number of NPA/NXX combinations is relatively fixed. The tools to verify broadband availability on a granular level all the way down to a potential carrier are even more defined.

    If the FCC wants to make it a valid figure, use something (that should be) familiar to them. The NPA/NXX system should work for every land-line, and give a far more realistic estimate.

    See, back in thr dawn of Interweb time, when you were 6 or so?

    Craigslist was (and is) still a valuable resource in every city it is in, but only as much as any semi-over-populated online resource is. While I'm not disagreeing with you (to some extent), I will disagree with the general tone of your post.

    If you are smart enough to pass over the cruft and farkle, you will find the gems. If you aren't, you'll be lost in the backwash of the 'Net, just like the rest.
