This Simpsons quote should put it all in perspective.
"Well, I hope you're all satisfied. You bankrupted a bunch of naive movie folks -- folks from a Hollywood where values are... different. They weren't thinking about the money. They just wanted to tell a story, a story about a radioactive man, and you slick small-towners took 'em for all they were worth."
Wow, I think I'd go crazy if I had to work in Microsoft's marketing department. How can they be so stupid!? Windows is truely marketed to idiots. Do you believe everything you here? Are you an idiot? Do you love gay Marketing terms? If you can answer "yes" to these questions try Windows XP!
Very good point. Why would the RIAA want to help us find other music channels unrelated to them. The RIAA is a group of the 5 biggest record labels. Its just not in thier interest.
The answer is to not support these record labels and find out how deep this goes. Do these record labels own other labels? Maybe we can compile are own database as a open effort. Kind of like what the cddb does only we just keep track of music/artists that belong to bad labels.
I have already boycotted these labels personaly, to be honest though it was of my own interest. The internet/streaming radios (mostly) has led me to discover such a vast amount of music that I didn't even know was out there. The music I now listen to doesn't come from the major lables, and do not listen to the radio either. I think you'll find boycotting the riaa won't be to hard, and will enable you to find rare better music that you will enjoy more.
Word, we talk like everyone has the time and the extra machine and/or is willing to reinstall the one they have, like it aint no thing. I think for the majority of people trying different linux distributions like picking ice cream at 31 flavors aint going to happen.
It'd be cool to try them out without having to do much on our part to see if its worth it. Well, maybe that's what the linux expo's are for.. But I'm to cheap to fly anywhere for an xpo. Maybe LUG's? I have yet to attend one.
My friend lived in New York and he bought a bootleg copy of the movie "Ghost", yeah the one where they mold clay (don't ask why). Anyways it was still in theatres at the time, and when he got home he put it in the vcr. Well all it was was some guy with a sheet over his head making "ohhhhh" sounds for 20 minutes. Super funny the fact that the guy who sold the bogus bootleg went to the trouble of filming himself for 20 minutes being a dumbass! ahhh it can only happen in New York.
Browser's are doing good. Its the web dev's that aren't going with the standards and/or not testing on various browsers and platforms. That would solve half your problems. So instead of bitching about browser developement, I'd encourge good web developement with standards.
this article will have you making a run to your favorite networking hardware store

I think your post would be a good candidate for a new type of /. submission. I think we could call it "Tell Slashdot". :-)
I think the next one is "Generation Y oh God Y!"
Now if only I had something worthy enough to encrypt :-(
Homer:Well I just bought some shares of News Corp.
Lisa: Dad that's fox!
Homer: Sell! Sell!
Or depending on who you are, wearing nothing at all can also have the same effect.

Yes, I agree. The PPM rate is extremely important in browsing.
That's Porn Per Minute rate.
In that case why not vote Nader? He's always for the consumer rights and won't take donations from corpatations.
I would like to see that just so I can see the little devil guy ride the dolphin. :-)
Because if you pronounce SQL with out saying each individual letter it sounds like dolphin talk
McBain: "Your post is very homosexualy"
slashdot: "BOOOO!!!"
McBain: "Maybe all of you are homosexuls!"
slashdot: "BOOOO!!!"
Bart reading slashdot: "this is terrible"
You could have said the same thing about South park before the movie came out. And I don't have to tell you that the movie was super funny.
I hope they call them Episodes 4, 5 and 6.
Yeah. I hope they don't.
