I wouldnt have a problem with it, assuming it was cleared by those that make the rules. OSX is easy (in theory, never had the chance) to connect to networks, assuming theres no wierd stuff needed to connect to..
You can always use the BUILT IN indexing service..
You'll need to do some programming (unless you find a nice example script) and some configuring to set where it searches, but it does work quite well:)
I think that's actually the magazines list of questions, rather than the professors. I get the impression the professors list is a bit more meaningful:)
And dammit Slashdot - Your Rights Online? What the hell has this got to do with it, put it back where I told you it should go:(
Lotus Notes client is horrid. Groupwise client isnt much better.
Neither can be bought seperately, and afaik, both only support the companies own server.. Outlook will support IMAP, POP3 and SMTP, so can stand on its own nicely.
You don't deploy until you know what you're doing with it, same as with MS stuff.
When MS stuff breaks, what do you do? Call MS and pay them $250 for each problem?
When OSS stuff breaks, what do you do? Call someone with expertise on the subject (a consultant?) or ensure you have someone on site who knows what the hells going on!:)
Look at it this way - Columbus sailed to America in 1492. Where such trips routine by 1537? People still died on voyages, etc. And they didnt have to worry about bringing their own air supply! Give it a hundred years or so.
Linux comes with iptables/ipfilter. It's command line, but if you want a nice GUI for it, theres things like http://www.fwbuilder.org/ - not for the faint hearted, but then most Linux setup routines will install a decent set already.
Didn't he found Ion Storm? The company that brought us the unbelievably good Deus Ex?
I'm willing to give him another chance. Daikatana was only bad due to its delays and excessive hype, imo..
If I had mod points, I'd give you the lot!

Ahh, I getcha :)
That's actually quite devious! I'll have to remember that..
Must be a linux DHCP server I guess? Dont think Windows DHCP is that smart :/
I'd be interested to know what software you use to perform all this.. Any chance of telling? :)
But I thought 2005 was the year of the Linux Desktop?!?
As long as you don't lose the Steam folder, you're fine.
You might actually be fine even if you lost it, as it's tied to your login, but I wouldn't like to try that one..
So all you need to do is never go to USA.. Big deal :)

You can always check out the Dogbert Buzzword Generator :)

Some don't actually EVER expire..
Some, like Googles cookie, don't expire for ages!
(Googles cookie implodes some time around January 2039)
You're stealing the internet!!
Not specifically MS, but you're paying either way.. Someone supports you whichever way you go.
Interestingly, neither videos appear to play for me :(

A whole 33% off, huh? No media costs, no distribution costs (comparatively) and it's limited in usage and time.
Is this brought to us by the same guys making the next gen DVD's or something??
What are you, Vulcan??
Load it in FF, and its straight to RV
Load it in IE and it asks if you want RV or WMP!
Grr

Tried to do a copy and paste, but the lameness filter wont let me. DRM in force! ;)
Without the CSS support.
Marvellous!
I disagree too. Halo2 I finished the same evening I got it (grr), thats the only game I've thought to be too short.
On the other hand, the only game I've thought to be too long is Need For Speed Underground 2 - I've been playing on and off for MONTHS now!
