    You do realize that, after Social Security (21%), the second biggest item in the US budget (16.9%) is the Department of Defense, and that's not counting all the money spent on Iraq and Afghanistan since that was funded with separate "emergency" funding bills. So the second biggest government expenditure is the sacred cow of conservatives. But yeah, Medicare is already 3rd.

    Well, if you're going to say that - if you add up all the separate funding for welfare, social security, unemployment , health and human services - all things to do with the poor , elderly, indignant and such, 50 % of all funding goes to that.

    I like the freebie papers. I use them in my chimney starter to light my charcoal. Much cheaper (i.e. free) than purchasing lighter fluid...

    Yes, this kind of things is my wet dream. No more grandpa stuck in the middle of the motorway at half the speed limit and no more speed jerk running over your bumper because you drive to slow for them but already 5-10km/h over the speed limit... For me a car is a tool to move from point A to point B. If i don't have to bother about the others cars because the car do it for me, I will have time to read/play/work during to commute.

    Consider taking the train then.

    but if it's the latter, why should I make room for you to break the law (go over 65)?

    At least in Illinois, it's the Law to move over to the right lane if there is faster traffic behind you. So in illinois, you would be breaking the law to enforce another one. Not to mention that it's just plain rude of you just move over to the other lane that's driving all legal and stuff. Or become a traffic cop. A real one. with tickets and stuff.

    I use x-box and netflix, I do not have cable, satellite, or an antenna hooked up to my big screen. I'm busy making sure friends and family know about the savings, and am trying to wean them off of commercial television as well.

    It's been over six months since I saw a television commercial. And I'm damn glad of that.

    Sorry, after the latest fiasco with that stupid securerom refusing to run cnc 3 on my system because I have a virtual drive (and I owned the title) and the twitchy crap it does with the 1.06 update by crashing everytime I try to load it because I don't have a language pack (which there is no option for me to implement) has gotten me to the point where I won't be sending money to EA anymore for games.

    I don't mind buying games, I do get really pissed off when I buy the game, register it, and then get locked out because they blacklist a product.

    Good call. I'm in the situation the article poster is in, so I'm taking a week off and just working on house stuff like moving things around and cleaning up.

    Hope it works, otherwise, i have to find a new line of work. After over a decade working here, I can't stand sitting in front of that pc with the projects they give me.

    I'm not a youngster, Been coding "In House development" for over a decade in a large company, and I can assure you, 5 years, 4 coders is overkill for a re-write.

    I think they are restricting usage by being a monopoly and fixing limits.

    The simplest solution I would think is to analyze what a user like myself would lose because I watch netflix.

    Then simply force them to offer a cable package that was ala carte,on demand, 8.99, and commercial free in exchange for the caps.

    I think the wwriter is failing to take something into account.
    I'd heard of Batman all my life - never heard of watchmen until this movie. I suspect I'm not the only one.

    For an accurate comparison, they should do an r-rated Batman.

    I've already changed my Habits. I dumped dish and will no longer pay for cable or satellite. I stream NetFlix thru my x-box and am pretty happy paying less than 15 a month (microsoft live and netflix) for a full queue of shows I get to see when I want to see it.

    Dish, Comcast, And direct TV better start panicking, the age of a la carte is here.

    I know I won't get modded because I'm late to the party, but That woman who took over sci fi and really trashed it with stupid reality shows and pro wrestling and canceling shows like the dresden files because it attracted the wrong demographic helped me decide to cut satellite and never get cable.

    I'll get the seasons delivered or streamed thru netfix,get em at the library, or just do without it.I'm commercial free on what I watch, I get my news from the web. I'm done with paying obscene amounts of money for crap.

    Up yours sci fi, follow the same path mtv did in becoming totally useless as what you claimed to be on launch.

    Yesterday there was a post about windows 7 basic being limited to two applications.

    If this anti-trust suit goes thru, won't another one be waiting when someone points out that windows update, and other MS Products don't count as part of the limitation?

    Wish I had mod points, Microsoft is going back in time and letting the downloaders help tweak the system. It worked for all builds up until vista.
