The U.S. Military has extremely expensive equipment. How hard would it be to isolate their infrastructure on something not available on the World Wide Web? They Have SATELLITE NETWORKS! Put the public stuff on the world wide web, and keep the MILITARY INTRANET cord free from the web!
Yeah, no kidding, I drive a wrangler with a six speed, when I visit the parents they want me to drive their auto trans.
I actually once accidentally put the trans in drive instead of reverse. I cover the brake when I drive their pacifica, but wow - yeah, totally understand the brain fart thing.
Securerom does a check for virtual drives, if it finds one, the game refuses to load (using the dvd in the dvd drive).
It wouldn't work again until I unistalled 120% .
I'm sure that 120% has developed a newer patch to prevent it from being detected, but for me at least, Until EA games stops this DRM crap, they won't have me as a customer - and I have all the c&c games up to kanes wrath. I don't download cracked games, I can afford to buy them.
I quit buying EA Games when C&C 3 Kane's refused to play after I purchased Alcohol 120% .
Apparently they felt they had the right to tell me what programs I am allowed to run on my PC. Unfortunately, they forgot who had the right to open up my wallet to purchase things.
Bad analogy. It is like holding the car company responsible for making cars without doors and locks when they get stolen. True, stealing a car is a criminal activity. But designing a car that can not be secured effectively is aiding and abetting.
EA games DRM denied access to a game I purchased on my machine because I had Alcohol 120% installed, In deciding on that invasive course of action to protect their software, they lost me as a customer.
If I buy the disc, and the disc is in the drive, don't lock me out of a game over your sense of ethics. Refund my money, and take the product back instead.
Dish is even worse on leaving - you don't own any of the equipment, if you quit in February, they demand you climb up on the icy roof to get their lnb to ship back, and they threaten to charge not only the early termination fee - but the full cost of the equipment if its "damaged" in any way - meaning if they find a scratch, they'll hit your credit card- and better make sure the remotes are included.
Took a complaint to the BBB and countless calls to the escalated tech (which never returns calls - you have to catch them when they are off a call and in their seat).
I will never ever go with DTV, Dish, or comcast again. I'll take the netflix and stream the commercial free stuff to my tv instead.
I fixed my problem. I turned off cable/satellite, signed up to x-box and netflix. No more commercials, and and currently have an online library of well over a years worth of stuff lined up to watch.
HUH? The overreporting of MJ INDUCED projectile vomiting. If anything, it's proof that this congress critter has at least an idea of how mainstream america loathes the california granola.
Knowing that a significant revenue source for the distributors of DVD's is the fact that people scratch and rebuy, will the various distributors allow it to prosper?
So they are going to deploy the ability to remotely update the users device. Because the bad guys will never figure out how the company does it. I can see it now. An entire carriers smart cell line bricked by a remote exploit that updates phones.
If they would move past "Infotainment" and got back to writing good "News" instead of creating "Crisis" and attacking an administration simply to raise advertising funding I'd be inclined to buy a newspaper to read.

You have to be a member of their community now to read the previous forum post of the complaints. I thought that was a bit whiney of them.
At least it's not as bad aas what Mythic did earlier this week.
They made the forum closed to non registered viewers not long ago. Guess they didn't want the rants to be public.
Mythic's billing fiasco, this games marriage with spam and malware, what is it with online games this week?

Salt killed his father.
So his father was a slug?
It has been invented and is on the market.
I wave my card at a door, and the lock unlocks - I press in a five digit pass number, and the second door unlocks.
It'd be ludicrous if apple was awarded a patent for putting it on their phone.
if it plays locally with no drm need - It's up all the time.
ergo, any downtime is unacceptable.
Just having and paying for symantec is a cyberloss, and that's before a cyber attack!

Speaking to bad analogies
Brick, meet car window.
Oh wait, you need a windshield???
The house overwhelmingly approved? That means it'll add to the deficit, be largely useless, and misused by RIAA.
God help us all.
U.S. Cellular has the fewest dropped calls in the industry for like 8 years running. I'm cool with that.
Who's going to buy the tylenol for the whales?
Acoustics are a bitch.

Thus as it stands, the US still does have complete control over GNSS systems.
Which is cool, because like, the US citizens paid to launch it and get it going?
I say we simply do this instead.
Find out how many customers will stay flying without nut free zones, and how many customers will be lost if there are no nut free zones.
then act accordingly.

Cheaper too.

Did I mention no more commercials?
Mainstream America Did not want three years of "The Plan" and one year of "Change" and get Trillion dollar Deficits.
"Evolving" to a backwater extinction isn't always the best thing - sometimes status quo works. //file under "Yes they did"

They have run journalism into the ground...
