Are you f@$%ing kidding me? have you ever meet someone who has woken up from a long term coma? I have and they are completely screwed up the muscles atrophied and if they can talk it seems that have a head full of jello. there is no way I would want that crap. If I end up in a coma pull the damn plug! I don't want to wake up months later and not be able to move and most likely have major brain damage. For short term coma pateints this would be great but long term ones need a serious evaluation before we try to wake them up. as far as not using drugs did you have coffee or soda there is a drug in there, had any chocolate lately one in there too. Smoke cigarettes? Cause that has drugs in it too. America's war on drugs is ridiculous. It's been going on for way too long and gogin no where. In fact more people use drugs today then when it started which means we are losing and the people on drugs are winning. What does that tell you about drug use?
Last I checked the FBI and CIA had word of these attacks and did nothing because of their refusal to cooperate with each other. I personally lost friends in the attacks on the World Trade Center. Some who worked there and one who was a firefighter. I know for a fact they would be against these so called laws. They would have wanted something positive to come of thier deaths not oppression and a war that has nothing to do with terrorism. They can say this is for the greater good all they want, but its a power grab pure and simple.

I recently deployed the small google box in my organization and it works great. I no longer have to dig for files because somebody in accounting doesn't remember where they saved a file. It makes my job easier and leaves me more time to play City of Heroes at work. Thank you Google!
With Cisco buying everything in sight thiese days Tivo would be great acquistion. They have already purchased some other consumer electronics firms. Can't think of who at the moment but it was here on/. that I saw it. Anyways Tivo would be great if it could do half of what my homebuilt dvr does. I run mythtv its friggin awesome and beats the hell out of tivo. I could see Cisco adding some much needed network compatibility to the tivo so you could stream recorded stuff to anywhere on your network. Of course there is always the possibililty MS will buy them and the Xbox III will have much better dvr functions.
There is no software that can't be pirated. With enough time and ingenuity any software will get opened up and passed around for free. All the copies of windows in my home are pirated including XP and I have no issues with patches and updates. I pirate software regularly since i'm too broke to buy it. This little annoyance that MS added will soon be overcome.

The net should be controlled by an international group not just one goverment. Everyone uses the web not just the US. Some countries use it even more than the US. The.xxx domain would also be helpful in filtering pr0n. Of course all the sites out there probably wouldn't switch but new sites could be filtered easily.
Good review for a great game. I thought the author did Oblivion justice. Oblivion is just as good if not better than Morrowind which was a spectacular game. It is truly as expansive and consuming as the reviewer stated.
Last I checked the UK gets pretty much the same stuff the US does so how is this article no good to someone in the states? I know this has been said but I want to thow mine in too. On a side note, also stated before calculus does have roots in Greece and Egypt. Though Newton is considered the "father" of calculus he was not the first peron to use it. Why do people in the US demeand everything be geared toward them? This is the reason when I travel I try to speak with a generic enough accent to not be labeled an American. I love my country but for the most part we have turned into a bunch of uneducated, whiney, egotistical, know it alls, a label I want nothing to do with.
I also go to the University of memphis and this is not the only professor with a no laptop policy. the only reason this is in the news is beacuse a group of her students have started a petition to allow laptops. I agree with the others that this is ridiculous. It is the teacher's class and if she says no laptops then no laptops. Last I checked the teacher was in charge of the class. I also don't like laptops in class as then inistent clicking is distracting. Just take a tape recorder to class and type your notes at home.

Why the hell bother buying books if you can get a pdf version for cheaper and use your laptop in class. I think its good tech is being pushed in into education. In todays world computer skills are a muist and In know plenty of recent college grads that can still barely check thier email much less set it up. I think PC skills should be taught starting K. I have no problem teaching religion in school as long as its not mandatory and its labeled as religion. Actually I think a specific class for religion would be a good thing as long as it taught about all the major religions. That way kids would have a better understanding of other religions than those being taught in the home. I love the idea of caring a library of books with me but do I neeed to? Of course not but I also don't have to have game sytems or even TVs but I got em. Anyways this is all good but as stated before this dog has been beaten to death. We already now all about the black and white capsules that are clear as print. The thing is with a product like this we need to see it, which means sell something that uses this brilliant technology or shut up already. The $400 sony ebook reader sure doesn't count as most of my ebooks I got free. Why would I pay $400 to use something I got for free or really cheap. If this thing cost say $100 or under then we can talk until then I have heard enough about black and white capsules and how crisp the text looks.

It would make alot more sense to ban prophet and mahommand only if used together as this would most likely be a non muslim person making a username with those 2 words. This whole war on terror has just grown into a war on Muslims which for me is truly frightening as I have alot of muslim heritage although I am an athiest. I have seen time and time again peopl not get on a bus because that "muslim guy" has a a big bag and looks like he is up to something. Now the guy never looks like he is up to anything except minding his own damn businesses. The other thing about all this is people claiming muslims to be more violent than Christians. Tell that to all those peolple that were killed by Christians in the crusades, Hitler himself used Christian references in his speeches against Jews. I know their is alot of debate on what Hitlar was, religious wise, but no matter what he was he used the christian religion to help him win people over. So these are 2 of the biggest atrocities in history and both invovlved Christains doing things in the name of God. Yes Muslims did fight against the Christians in the crusades but you would fight to if a bunch of white guys showed up to your holy place and said, "Oh this place is holy to us too. We are taking it and you have to leave." So to say Christians don't go crazy, burn things down and kill people is absurd it just hasn't happened recently. Also have you thought maybe the instigators of the violence aren't acting like a normal muslim and enticing others to do the same? hell do you think every single person at a football/soccer riot wants to riot or just went along with the trouble makers because we all act like sheep in groups. We are all on this planet together it doens't matter who you worship or how dark or light you happen to be. When it is all said and done we are all still neighbors, brothers and sisters and we should treat each other as such.
I can see a use for it but why not just stick a regular spreadsheet out on a server and just have a shortcut. My office uses this for numerous things. The information is centralized everyone sees the updates and it's already in a format people are used to manipulating. So why make something else when we have solutions? I guess just becuase they can.

Sex is looked at as evil mostly becuase the us was founded by a bunch of people that were afraid of thier own genitalia. they had tyrannical laws in the begginning stating exactly what kind of sex was legal and even when you could have it. many o these laws are still on the books and even prosecuted. so that's why.
I bet most of you thought that WTF? in the subject was for the article but you were wrong it's for the posts. people seem to be really bashing this idea but I think it's great. i do play Second Life a little I get bored quick as there aren't any monsters to bash unless you go get a lot of extra stuff. Anyways I love the idea of blurring the line of MMOs and reality. As people have said this would be even better if it where WOW. you would have to use fake weapons of course but it would be lots of fun. I know I use big clubs that I claim is a sword and bash people over the head every weekend. Check it out http://www.sca.org/, it's a blast if you like clubbing people and drinking a whole lot of liquor. You do have to dress in funny clothes but hey you get to club people and where else can you do that legally. if you live in the south there is a huge event in March, Gulf Wars, http://www.gulfwars.org/, lots of fun check it out. Anyways I hope this starts something and we see more of it. As for the whole ruining of the fantasy part, if you don't know that the really hot girl is probably not really hot or even a girl you need a reality check real bad.
I looked right past it's current application and immediately applied it to all kinds of really cool hacks. Like putting one inside a pc and displaying an inversed image on the window. Inversed so you could see the image from the outside for all you non geek people out there. Sad that/. has non tech folks but oh well things change. Or instead of led built buckles you could have projector belt buckles. Wow I'm such a super geek. these are good ideas though they are all very geek. So what other cool hacks could be done with this?
