I think it's all fine and good to have an application specific optimization, but I think it's wrong of nVidia to do it on a application that happens to be a benchmark. The only people benefitting from this optimization is nVidia, not nVidia's customers. Do they plan on making application specific optimizations for all applications? I think we know the answer to that is a resounding no. They just want us to see there product through rose colored goggles, thus missing all it's deficiencies.
I was thinking the same thing. People, please contribute to my paypal donation fund, as I really want to buy this thing! You'll be more than welcome to join me on her when we rechristen it Enterprise and start a floating city in the Pacific.
Is it just me, or does it seem that the main reason most virii are written for MS products is because MS products are installed on 90+% of PCs? It would be rather silly to write a virus for BeOS or other similarly underappreciated OSes. If Linux was installed on 90+% of PCs I'm sure we'd see fewer MS virii and more Linux virii. Doesn't take a mathematician to figure that out.
Well said.. 150,000 is a lot fewer casualties than say another 500,000. Not to mention the 500,000 would've included a large number of American casualties. The goal of course was to avoid as few casualties as possible. I won't pretend to know what any other country would've done if they had created a nuclear bomb before us, but why would you try to build one if you weren't planning on using it in some fashion or other?
Sure we could've lobbed one off the coast of Japan, or brought them to see it tested, but the only problem w/ that is that we only had 2 bombs. We bombed 2 cities to give them the impression that we had a large number of bombs available, so they would be more apt to surrender. Of course, if we had lobbed one off the coast of Japan they would've probably said "Hah! they can't even hit a target!".
The last episode airs this coming Friday at 8pm EST on SciFi. (It aired last Monday in the UK). Be sure to watch it (I've seen it, and it's a fantastic episode).
Obviously, this was a pirated copy of Windows, otherwise it would've had a machine printed label on it! You are a bad (some might say evil, I wont) person. But, I guess I'm not one to judge.. Pirate on!
LOL, I wish, at least that'd give me a good excuse as to why I was involved w/ my ex. Anyways, we had a kid, she left 2 yrs later and hasn't had anything to do w/ him since (she's a very immature person).
Talk about pussywhipped. If you are the one bringing home the money, then just go buy it. Lazy housewives should have no say in what you purchase. Put them in their place (namely, on their knees). Granted, these opinions may explain why I'm a single father.
How does this effect national ISP's like Earthlink, AOL, etc.. After all, it would be fairly difficult to block content in just one state, it'd be much easier to do it nationwide.
Also, What if a person in another state is dialing a number (that happens to be in PA or serviced by a PA IS)? Do they still have to block sites he requests?
socket launches? I didn't realize we were launching socks into space.

You are both wrong. Neither 42 nor 46 is a prime number.
I'd hate to be the one trying to play an FPS on that keyless kb.

I think he was stating that you have to do it yourself, not buy a cooked steak at a restaurant to get a decent steak dinner.
Now here's where we'd notice a huge difference w/ nice Squid caches/proxies.
Jame Kochalka rocks :)
Why not just use your favorite P2P app to download the comics :)
I actually have a job, just thought he could use a good harassing :)
Get a new job you whiner. Some of us would be happy to have a job to complain about.

It works! Wow, to think I didn't believe him.

Thanks for the karma everyone!
Hmm.. I think bears might be planets! They orbit a star, they don't radiate light, and they are larger than X.
What a concept!

I was running Quake on my 486dx4 100. I got a whopping 15fps when I was lucky.
