I get a fair amount of spam, but spend less than a minute a day deleting it. spamassassin + procmail puts it into a folder I read once a day. So, I don't think this is the problem you think it is.
I've read that.NET is covered by patents. Aren't you worried that Mono will be shutdown by MS deciding to protect their IP? If you've answered this before (I'm sure you have), a link would be nice. Thanks.

Anyone finding the above idea interesting should read Spin by Robert Charles Wilson. It deals with an interesting fork in civilization that has very interesting consequences.
SideShowBob is right, if you don't want your kids to see porn, then take appropriate measures. Parenting is hard. I know, I have a kid. Pushing it off onto the Feds would not work.
I gotta stand up for young children here. They don't "lie" (in the majority of cases). They are manipulated into by adults, who definitely have an agenda. Try this on a 5 year old: ask them a question. Keep asking the question until they change the answer. It will happen, and it doesn't take too long. There was a very famous case, the McMartin preschool Trial, where this was known to happen. I quote:
Critics have alleged that the questioners asked the children leading questions, repetitively, which, it is said, always yields positive responses from young children, making it impossible to know what the child actually experienced. Some claim the questioning alone may have led to false-memory syndrome among the children who were questioned.
Frontline did a series of documentaries on this case, spanning a few years. Very interesting. Check it out.
It's easy to find cases of Men leaving their families for greener pastures, but it is a rare thing for a woman to do it, and I would bet that in 100% of those cases the friends of that woman would never be surprised.
I live fairly close to where she disappeared. You probably don't know this, but there was an incredible effort to find her. Notices were posted everywhere, with her picture and information about her disappearance. From what I gather, it would be completely out of character for her to have left her children. As a parent, it is easy to tell how connected someone is to their kids. I'm sure her friends know this. For me, there is nothing in the universe that would make me leave my kid. Nothing. I believe she's dead.
There's another effect that these types of tests select for: the ability to work under pressure, but it's fake pressure. It's the pressure of the job interview, not the pressure of a real job. People can be really good at handling real job pressure and lousy at handling job interview pressure.
Please pipe your message through sed 's/there/their/g' next time (for this post all should be changed, next time use you're brain... OK, that's a joke people).
Consider the difference that electing Gore in 2004 could have made. Likely, there would have been no Iraq war. Just think of that. The many Billions of US$ that would be there for something else. The nearly 3000 Americans and 10's of thousands of Iraqis that would still be alive (yes, some of them would have died under Sadam, but not a significant number of them).
Yes, you have a choice between two people and it's not perfect. Get over it. Vote for the best person.
If only the idiots in Hollywood would read your post an understand it. It is 100% how I feel about seeing a movie in a theatre.
The only thing I can add: the last movie I saw (in an actual theatre) was Star Wars ep III. The film broke in the middle and we lost a few minutes of the film, in addition to the 10 minute wait. There was one other couple in the theatre, and they literally ran in and out of the place about 30 times (each time they received a phone call). Really fucking sad.
A friend has a comcast (I have 2 DTivos). He regularly complains of things (shows being recorded that he did not ask for, shows not being recorded that he did ask for). He's one of the smartest people I know, so I doubt it's user error. He called customer support one evening. They said they'd look into it. What they did was remotely reset his box. Problem was, he already did it before and he was in the middle of recording some programs.
Problem is that if the hidden volume is mounted and the laptop suspended... does Truecrypt unmount in this case? (In other words, does the user have to remount of resume?) If not, it's the same as not having any encryption at all.
What about vendors other than Novell? Hmm?

I was thinking the same thing. He should check out http://www.memtest.org/.
The rest of your comments were so far out there (and unrelated to anything I said), I really don't know what to say.

Yeah, I meant 2000.

This is the most insightful political comment I've seen on slashdot in a LONG, LONG time. Every word of it is, unfortunately, true.... dammit!
