My group of friends keeps in touch a few different ways:
Email for planning bigger events (bachelor parties, etc)
AIM for planning what we are doing that weekend
Cell phones for planning what we are doing that night
Xbox Live for general BS/Gaming (bankshot billiards is great for casual game/bs with friends)
Hm, now that I think about it, that is alot of contact info to keep track of. Good think most of those services keep track of buddies/contact lists for you. I dont understand why cell phones don't do this yet.
Well, I wouldnt consider myself a SRK (nice acronym, coulda used that when I was in college). Went all 4 years without signing up for a CC. I answered phones at our help desk for beer monday, bought my own books, and paid for my education (at a small private uni) mostly myself. Still have plenty of loans, but the interest on the balance on those is a lot lower than all the frivilous purcahses I would have made with a credit card. Most of my friends wern't as wise. Hell, I'm a few years out and still don't have a credit card. Pay in cash, leave no trail:)
I happen to find PA very funny (well, sometimes its just funny), but since I dont really care for forums (nor network tv, for that matter), Maybe im not the typical PA fan. But nobody that i've found follows the games industry as closely as I do. And they usually have interesting commentary. I'm not really interested in the PA fans who think chuck norris is a demigod.

The infinite rotation only works in single (if i recall correctly). Once you're past lvl 10 or so, the pieces might as well just start on your highest brick in the middle, since they fall so fast. At the real high levels, i use infinite rotate to plan my next piece. Its not 100% pure tetris, but it is sure a helllll of a lot of fun.
Agreed on all accounts. I own a ds. Plan to buy a lite when its out, give mine to my lady, if i like it. I own a handful of DS games (which is alot, since they are small and I have big hands). I play all the latest FPSes, etc. But my DS gets the most play time of any console I own (and I own 9 from 4 different makers). Nintendo has done a good job at selling me games and hardware. And i'm 23. Almost everyone I know has a DS now. And we're all 20somethings. Its good clean fun, like in the 80s:)

I visit both sites, but much prefer slashdot. But thats just me, and I'm crazy.
All through college I wanted to "make games". I programmed as much as I could in my spare time (between counterstrike and theory of comp). After graudating, I got a "real" job, writing boring code for a business. Now, I develop games in my spare time. Keeps it fun, but does take longer to accomplish anything. Still, it is a hobby, not a job. Once you make your hobby your job, it has been my expirence that it isn't fun anymore.
Smoking stops you from doing dangerous things like "jogging". Remember, it is joggers who find the dead bodies on the side of the road. Nobody finds a dead body sitting at home and playing GTA
Oh man, dont get me started on tetrisDS. Its too bad the game doesnt have a "total play time" counter built in, or I'd realise how addicted i really am:) Its time to go try to beat my friends times on mission mode:)
If I recall correctly (and I'm sure I will be if I'm wrong) they have been using 3d software to make their show since the 2nd episode. The Pilot was the only one done with paper cutouts (the show was never hand drawn, AFAIK). They can turn out an episode in just a few days. In 2003, Saddam was caught on a sunday, and they made fun of it that wednesday night. Pretty amazing what they can do, and how far their animation has come (sort of...) since the first season.

Amen bro. XBMC has been my favorite htpc-ish media player since installed it back in the day. The newer builds are quite nice, imho. It "Just Works(c)" with my linux media server, and with a remote, it passes the Fiencee test. Nothing at all like the garbage they put you through with the 360/MCE integration. Blech. I even bought a 2nd xbox to have xbmc in my bedroom.
Considering you were 14ish when the NES originally came out, I'd say you are in their target demographic for the virtual console. Hell, I'm 23 and can't wait to repurchase my childhood:)
Indeed. With RSS parsing built into modern clients, I don't even need to go find them. Just random "This download has been completed" messages. Yeah, thats nice
I wouldn't say the "main" appeal to the 360 is the original xbox games. In fact, I rarely play anything other than the retail 360 games (and marble blast... mmmmm) on my 360. But it is nice to be able to put in regular xbox games that I have that are less than a year old and play them on my 360. Wireless controllers are nice, and the fact that my original xbox is in another room doesn't help
1) Has been debunked (by a PR guy, yeah i know, so who really knows)
2) My old Xbox is in my bedroom now, XBMC for my nighttime Divx watching. Its just nicer that I can bust out some of my old faves on the 360. But the kicker is that the 360 can play Xbox 360 games
That is also how I play, and the rearview is a crutch I'm not willing to give up. Thanks for confirming that it's fixed, you just made the last 4 hours of work that much longer!
Caching on the original Xbox sped up quite a few games. I recall the load screens in Vice City being alot shorter than in the ps2 version. I thought it was a good use of the technology. As far as the hard drive size, I want full games. A few patches don't really require a 20 gb HDD.
I just saw this in the morning so I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but hopefully they fixed the issues with ssx3. It technically would load and you'd be able to play, but saving didn't work and there was some serious slowdowns in play. I also see they updated Forza, which had some minor slowdowns, and when racing at 150 mph, that did not help my already questioable racing skills:)
Gonna be shredding it up on the mountain tonight:)

Word. I just install that for everyone now. They ask how much it is. I say free. They are amazed.
Not if I don't consume their goods or own their stock. Both of which I am glad I don't.

and play Kirbys Avalanche. OH NOES, puzzle games lead to selling yourself for smack. Totally.

I can't wait for the My Little Ponies RPG from WotC. It would be a huge boon for the industry in general.
My point was more that you wrote the month as 04 (april) instead of 03 (march) than the date format.

Typing the right month would help your case. I'm just sayin...
and another to not pay attention because you think you are safe...
Sounds like fun though, kinda like the CS programming competitions I went to in high school
