Yeah, actually, I've been thinking about getting one lately. I've got the snes emulators on the xbox, but its just not quite the same:)
Of course, I'm not sure how pleased about my collection the lady is going to be after we get married in a few months. I'd better get my own "game room":)
It was cheap trick and the allman brothers, since their record contracs predate digital distribution, they are getting screwed by some wording in their contract, i believe.
Yes, you sir, are correct. Let me rephrase: I am a big fan of the GAMES. I do not idolize strange rockstarish japanese men. Nor commit the spelling of their names to memory:p
I haven't seen every video game based movie, but I'll have to agree. I haven't seen the English Dubbed version yet, just the japanese/english subbed version, but I was a big fan. I've seen it 4 or 5 times. Great film, even if you didn't play ff7 (though it helps)
was the first game on the 360 that I really wanted. I've been a fan of the series for several years. This movie, however, looks awful. I'm a big Team Ninja fan, big DOA fan, but seriously, Igitaki. Couldn't you just make a CG version with the characters we know? And have it suck less?
Funny, I play tetrisDS, yet i still get negative labels. Maybe it is because i play for hours at a time, and claim that I will "pwn" people on wifi. Who knows.
I was going to mod you up, instead I'll reply. I don't want to repeat all the sayings and tired arguments ("computer science is about computers as much as..."). In the end, computer science does not drop you right out of college with the ability to "this or that". You end up with the ability to learn how to do "this or that". Getting a degree in CS does not instantly make you a good admin. However, you should know enough about the theroy behind networks, etc to apply yourself and knowledge to networks, or AI, or DBA, or whatever. CS is not a degree where there are ready made jobs for you. You have to apply yourself.
I'm a decent sys admin/network guy/programmer for a small company. I learned all that stuff (except programming) in my spare time, applying what I learned in class. I don't really understand the "your degree has computer in the title, so you should be able to fix my broken Dell" attitude towards CS.
Thanks for clearing that up! It just never sat well with me, I guess. Yes, that was a bit of an old discussion. I'm glad they are able to keep their site up without charging for a review on their site.
Also, something that I found interesting a while back when I first stumbled across gametunnel. I originally posted this over at garagegames, and still have not really found an answer that makes me feel "good inside"
I like the site gametunnel.com. It's great that there is a site dedicated to indie games in this fashion. However, their review policy has me a little... confused. They charge for reviews. It's something betwen 35 and 70 dollars, depending on affilliate status. It seems strange to me that you would be paying for a review. Seems like a little "conflict of interest" could be happening. I understand they gotta pay the bills. At least the same oppertunities exist for indie developers to submit their games to GT, but, I don't know. Something about that system just doesn't jive well with me. Guess I can't really explain it.
I wasn't a big fan. At least, not big enough to buy the full version. Marble blast ultra, now theres some killer indie fun.
Back On topic, I love indie gaming, but there really isnt much there that catches my eye. I'll have to take a look at Titan Attacks, since it was at the top, and Steam Brigade looks quite interesting. Plenty of other derivitive stuff there, however, but if it is how the indies pay the bills, more power to them! I understand that not every indie game can be Darwinia
what the GP didnt note is that there is plugins for every major modeling evironment out there. Milkshape is the one of choice because its cheap (yes, i know blender is OSS, but it wasn't open source when TGE was released almost 5 years ago)
I agree with you, Milkshape is worse than hell, but I like to point out that no matter what 3D modeling package you use, there is an art pipeline into TGE. That, and the community rocks (disclaimer: I do own both TGE and TGB. Both are awesome. Have been working with TGE since it came out in 2001). If you want to get really fancy, there is the TSE, but thats windows only AFAIK
That was what I was getting at when I said it is now only decent. They used to have decent reviews. Not so much anymore. Get rid of the sketches, show more games.
g4 is dead to me otherwise (and since i dont subscribe to the channel, they dont get any of my money)
Xplay is now only decent, when it used to be good. everything else (that they create) licks balls. Attack of the show is the worst. Blech. Ive watched it. Every time, I find whatever is on the underside of my shoes to be less irritating and more interesting.
way to read the press release you linked to :p
"Grand Theft Auto IV will be simultaneously available for the PlayStation®3 and Xbox 360(TM)"
I think that settles it.
It has been several years since i used opera, but even way back then (2003), opera had built in google search bar.
I'm pretty sure there won't be a new Dr. Seuss book, being that he (aka Theodor Geisel) died 15 years ago
Do you know why I pulled you over?
Dietrich was driving way too fast in mein porche
Forums, I can understand (Ahem... slashdot :)
myspace, I don't get it.
how does one "Hang out" on a website? Oh boy, why don't we leave comments on other profiles! We're so hip.

I think people like you and I are just loyal gamers, not brand-loyal fanboys.
Goddamn, where are the mod points when I need em. You, sir, win slashdot for the day!

according to the preview images, there is going to be volleyball, though, im not sure what the point would be (other than the obvious:)

Thats pretty sweet. I was just kidding, most of my friends own DSes (after I let them play mine a bit :)

at least it was part of a slashback and not an entire slashvertisement.
We already know the russians are. We cannot have a positron gap!
