totally agree man. here at brandeis we got something called boogle which searches the network and this wonderful little program. and once a news outlet blabs the story, the RIAA is down on the university real fast.
the interne tis my #1 source of info. however, i still find newspapers like usa today(when traveling) and nytimes to be a good read. Also, i cant read time magazine online. I find i miss out on information, except im not sure what.
But otherwise, i pretty much rely on all research, and all up-to-date news, to be done online.
yea, but with america it was assumed the voter would be informed.
voters in India dont exactly read. at all. superstition is still prevelant and many of the people are misinformed. true, its getting better, but rather slowly, becuase the politicians are dragging their feet.
ill bet this minor opposition group has a link to someone who said something critical of a high ranking or influential person.
with an emperor(sp) laptop, you got a windows machine that simply has linux on it now.
In essence, your buying a windows machine. those laptops are all sonys and ibms and such. they bought the laptops, reformated the hard drives, and installed linux.
dont you think your being too picky about this? it can never have windows installed on it..you just killed about any chance you had finding a notebook that fits those specs.
Perhaps when your a little more accepting of Linuxs place in the notebook/laptop industry, youll understand which notebook/laptop you can purchase.
its a java applet, called RedSheriff. check your firewall logs. i found the google discussion group to be quite informative. and ad-aware dosnt find it, so says the googel discussion that was posted with the story.
that thinkthank is very pro-republican. very, very pro republican. Read more into the site, you'll see it, all the pro defense and pro bush comments. Or maybe i have selective sight(Not being sarcastic, i may actually only see what i want to)
4,000 bucks for a toilet..no wonder theyre in fiscal trouble. called cutting down on the costs folks(like maybe luxeries), perhaps a business class is in order for some japs..
India's buracrecy(sp?) will never let this go through. Itll be plauged by poor funding, secrutiy problems, and stupidity. If this does go through, and WORKS, its a miracle.
There is only one isp in india, govemrnet controlled of course. It is going to be privitised soon though. There are about 1/4 million "internet cafes" in india alone, some in the most remote parts of india, with no supervision. And most internet users in india know english, or access the web through a hindi(main language of india) language pack. So there are only two languages to worry about really, encryption is of barely any concern because it would take too long to acquire it. True, there is tons of pirated software floating around india, but thats mostly games.
How do I know all this? Because ive been there about 300x so know the place pretty well, and alot of my relatives are in the gov't so i got an idea of how they think.
I also believe its because of the amount of games that are out for these systems, Game Cube has like 6 or 7 games (give or take a few) and so far xbox hasnt come out with a amazing game yet, while PS2 has a bunch of them..

ive met quite a few headhunters and i think maybe 1 in 10 are really good guys. not a very good percentage.
but in the article, it says the indian govt asked it(the site) be blocked and the isp's just blocked all of it. someone tell me if ive read it wrong.

The Indian political machine. they want one group blocked immediatly. so, to fullfill the demand, they block the whole thing.
oh, and India isnt as democratic as it seems. its really just a corrupt govt that says it was voted in.
remember, this is the country where ghandi's village has no running water but cola is widely available.
theres bluesnews.com (my fav) shacknews, gamespot, gamespy, and now this.
games.slashdot better have something special going for it, or it'll just be ignored by the gaming masses.
yea, i got one of those as well.
perfect machine, no problems ever. not even a paper jam, and the ink cartridges are nicely sized.

try using it with xp's firewall. Change firewall preferences first to allow for it to work properly.
nice typing skills buddy. its linux, not linuz, by the way. and he has a point. Apparently the concept of a valid argument baffles you.
