Or better yet, they'd evolve more humility and stop acting like they're indestructible and own the road and pay attention to cross walks, traffic and signs.. Instead of what I see now, even as a pedestrian myself, of just blazing through traffic like they own the place.
Well, given that the domain hosting it has a.SU TLD, other than some complicated blocking routine among a lot of ISPs, it would be difficult to stop it. I guess they could try, but, the more Gov'ts try to stomp on things like this, the more pervasive they become because it elevates the taboo level and thus makes it even more desirable so more people want it and thus it pops up in more and more and more places than it would if they'd just left it alone to fap in the corner.
The thousands of tonnes of kleenex and toilet paper
Millions of gallons of clean water for cleanup
Not to mention the contamination of keyboards, mice and touchscreens.
"the thousands of gallons of sperm wasted" -- They're not wasted if they were never going to be used to create a child. The male body recycles them after a preset period anyways.
"The thousands of tonnes of kleenex and toilet paper" you forgot about socks.
"Millions of gallons of clean water for cleanup" why could you need all this water to clean up if you're using a kleenex or paper? Besides, it's not wasted if it's going in to someone's mouth.
That has to be the lamest attempt at a reply. Seriously? Wireless Power Transmission... LOL -- Seriously, if you're going to post something that low level in thought of reply, do it as an AC.
Wireless power transmission is great on short ranges, like inductive coils and pickups.. It's not going to be sending the equivalent of transmission line level work at anytime in the near future.
No amount of paint is going to fix the fact that it looks like a 90s era Dodge Intrepid with slight changes and noticeably missing radiator inlet. I get that looks are subjective, but it's hardly a futuristic design and the future cars I've seen in sci-fi were much nicer looking than what they've made.
I would think power lines are a good sign of the time the story is based. Where it is to represent the present. The near future normally would be wireless urban setting. The past 100 years or so, we wouldn't have power-lines, as most lights were still gas in an urban environment.
Out of all other things, they can be drown without much animation.
Also power lines don't date quickly. So a scene with with them will look as reliant for 2017 as it would for 1967 so such shows wont date as quickly.
Why would the future be wireless with regard to power? This isn't something easily reduced in overall intensity like the representation of information. It's the ability to do work being transmitted in a particular form. Most power transfer systems I've seen, even set in the far future, use some sort of conduit to transmit them.
Not once have I looked a single vehicle in the Tesla portfolio, save the defunct Roadster 1.0 and thought "sporty".. They're bland, uninspired and the interior is drab at best. I don't refute their straight line numbers, but that's all that's sporty about them.
Probably the same reason restores from backup fail often.. It was built out, configured and ready -- but, they're not regularly testing to make sure fail-over or restore is possible..
"It didn't teach itself to play at all. The rules are programmed in. What's a legal move. What's a win. All programmed, not learned."
Isn't that what humans do? We're taught what's a legal move, what's not, why they're not, what's a win and why it's win. We're programmed as well, our interface and language is different.
As for watching to learn... You can watch to learn, but for most humans, there's an explanation as to why things are and aren't allowed, what happened, why, who scored and why, etc...
"a really long chess game with non-strategic moves, as the most optimal path, may not be enforced correctly."
Well, at least with humans, pushing a game very long will stress the other opponent in to making a mistake if they're not as well equipped for it as you are. That's not sub-optimal, just longer. If you can't beat them straight up in logic, then you switch to alternate tactics.
Now, this may not apply to an AI as they don't tire like we do.. However, it's entirely possible, that if their logic systems are different enough, then you could get other programming flaws to manifest by pushing a game long and confusing it in to not understanding what you're trying to do. It may not be tired, but you could possibly exploit it like a tire human and make it run in to an unrecoverable error and lose nonetheless.
You're fine. I was singing out the ending song to Portal 2 with regard to your wishing you had the ability to mod my post. Guess it wasn't as funny as the first.
Because existing is nice. One likes being around. A lot of people who have thought carefully about this are concerned. Last I checked, most people like existing.
We all exist now and will cease to exist someday... Depending on your belief system, there either is or isn't anything after you cease. You simply stop being in the configuration you're in now. However, the majority of the particles that comprise you were other people/animals/objects at one point and they will be again in the future (save the small % of particles that end up escaping in to space as photons or such).
AI replacing Humans doesn't 100% mean it would replace the existence of a sentient being and people that don't yet exist have no thoughts one way or another about the topic.
We replaced the Hominids that came before us, like they the ones before them and so on and so on back to the first true life on the planet.
There's also nothing to say that like Homo Sapiens and Neanderthals intermingling, that Humans and AI won't do the same and while we in our present form would get replaced.. So too would AI in its current form and an entirely new and evolved form of life on this planet would dawn.. But, how is that any different than what's been happening for untold years?
"safely bike" -- Well, yeah, that's because the vast majority of cyclists have a "me first" attitude and in no way respect the law or safety of others. The regularly run red lights, stop signs, ride the wrong way down a one way, jump in/out of bus lanes, the sidewalks, I've had them yell at me to get out of their way as they ran a red light and pushed through my walk as a pedestrian.
The bulk of cyclists here that get hit by car are at fault and deserve it.
Log in or fuck off.

You're not the first Flatley to stomp your feet about something.
...if it offers you cake.
I used to mod you down, but now I only want you gone.......
Yep! And if Portal won't give me the ability to teleport-- I refuse to use it!
We're not just banging rocks together here. We know how to make a spying consumer device!
Hopefully..
Or maybe J. K. Simmons on random rants about lemons.
Could also have been strongly suggested that he play again if he knows what's good for him... Wouldn't surprise me in the least.
... and also think of ...

I did this with DC powered Christmas lights almost 2 decades ago... Though, at 3.5Mbps, salty wet string is still better than dial up.

The prevalence of power lines isn't on my top 10 list of "why?"
It's anime...

This stuff happens even here in the USA.... Not even a stretch... I've had tickets I've closed out for ISPs due to "fiber seeking backhoe"

"Vulcan, motherfucker. Do you speak it?"
Your use profanity is highly illogical. I think your feelings are getting the better of you.
I'm guessing you didn't pass the Kolinahr. Or you're one of those dirty half-breeds that has some human in you.
You're fine. I was singing out the ending song to Portal 2 with regard to your wishing you had the ability to mod my post. Guess it wasn't as funny as the first.
Now here we are again..
It's always such a pleasure..
Remember when you tried to mod, me once..
