  1. So that explains why.. on Facebook Scraped Call, Text Message Data For Years From Android Phones (arstechnica.com) · · Score: 1

I never use Facebook on my mobile, and only use the web client the few times I have to use Facebook for some organizations I am part of. I also make it a point to never share any personal information ever. And it really, really stresses the Facebook algorithms the f*** out. Every time I log in I get what by now seems more like desperate pleas for information. And browsing my front page is like watching the calm open sea compared to the in your face explosions of 'personalized' content I see others getting.

Tire markes would mean that you braked to hard locking the tires, causing you to lose traction. A system breaking at optimal efficiency would and should not leave tire marks under any circumstance.

  3. Sadly someone was going to be the first sooner or later.. And with that in mind Uber's behavior when it comes to self driven cars, and as a company in general has always been a bit sketchy. So one could argue that at least it is good that Uber is the one getting the unwanted (but perhaps needed?) attention now.

And it turns out that having a life outside of work, makes for happier and more productive people. Who would have thought?

Anyone seen the mail order spam deals where the order form has prepaid postage? I used to make a point to send blank forms, so that they had to pay for the postage but did not get any order. Same deal with user tracking. It takes resources and cost real money to do on a large scale. So if enough people run some kind of ad blocking and make it a point to never click ads, then the cost of tracking is transferred to the company.
