    This is the only place I disagree with you. Costa Rica is hardly like the States, nor even supports it. When Bush went on about the Coalition of the Willing, Costa Rica asked that their name be removed. Costa Rica has no army. They concentrate on making their own country better without meddling in the affairs of other countries.

    The article states that the ICE is a monopoly, but that's how they keep things in check. In English, the ICE is the Costa Rican Institute of Electricity. They handle the electricity and telecommunications for the entire country.
    There is also only one, yes one, insurance company for every kind of insurance. Surely they have more examples too. Each are government regulated and do not rip people off.

    It is true though that most business owners are European or American. This is because no foreigners are allowed to work unless they open their own business. This is because, as was mentioned, there are still not enough jobs for the existing population, and they don't need warmth seeking westerners taking their jobs.

    I suspect this law will not be passed. Costa Ricans are smarter than that.

    Searching for "age of consent canada" will yield many sites dedicated to trying to get this age raised.

    I still use F-Prot. It's not free (though it's only $29 for home users), but I haven't had any problems with it. It has much less overhead than McAfee or especially Symantec. And it doesn't assume you're stupid.

    You can sue for legal costs. My mother's accounting firm is doing so with the Canadian Customs and Revenue Agency for dragging on a fraud investigation for years, when there was no fraud to begin with.

    But apparantly, some judges are taking some action against frivolous lawsuits already.

    I base what I charge on how long it will take me to do. One friend needed a basic clean up. All I needed to do was install Adaware, scan, update virus definitions, and scan. I only charged $30, seeing as while it's scanning I'm free to do whatever I want.
    Later, I charged someone else $60 for a full reinstall, since it requires more time (backup, install, restore, install other apps).
    Just decide how much you want to make an hour, and how much you like the person.

    All prices are in Canadian dollars.

    I'd like to see a "stay in the country" feature. Going from Niagara Falls, ON to Vancouver, BC it sends you through the US. If I'd make the trip I would like to stay in Canada.

    Not true. Marketing is everything these days. Why is Britney Spears popular? Quality product? hehe...
    Marketing will get them their users, but users that don't know any better. For the tech crowd, yes, Microsoft will have to come up with a better product, though I find that just as amusing as Britney Spears selling records.
