    Uhmmm excuse me? Cave to legal pressure on what grounds? Any content provider can choose to not route traffic from any host they so choose. The only legal pressure could come from their customers if they want to access the RIAA website for some reason.

    You don't have the right because you don't own the statue of david. It is perfectly legal to smash off the offending parts of your Statue of David Reproduction and sell it however, though you can't sell it ass the orginal statue of david becauase it is not.

    That is what I did to close it(I really classify that as a minimize but owell) and it comes up comes up blurry every time obscuring the status bar and I have to open and close it again.

    My personnal pet peeve with mozilla is that in the mail I have found no way to disbale to preview pane like I could in Netscape 4.X. So I have it minimized. However everytime I close it and reopen it I the minimized preview pain is blurry and blocks out the status line so I have to maximize the preview pane then minimize it. If anyone knows how to fix this, or disable the preview pane let me know please!

    This is a true law in most cases, ignorance of the law does not excuse you from abiding by the law. I was not trying to imply otherwise. However in your speeding scenario some states have laws that state unless other wise posted the speed is XX mph (Usuaully 55). So if you are around their and can name the street you turned off on you have a good chance of actually beating it. I drove alot for an orginzation I was involved in and I found in rural areas 55 was usually a preaty safe bet as speed limits signs are posted very infrequently. Well firmly into Off Topic land now.

    If you read the article he was also selling 430 PIRATED games. Yea right he didnt know. He was selling pirated games, he deserves what he got. The two counts of selling unauthorized computer equipment is bunk though. You should be able to sell mod chips.

    I blew mine out skiing. My uncle however blew his out on an icy sidewalk. The right twist and tension will take out a tendon preaty good. Plus remember these guys are more than scientists down there, they have to more or less run a city by themselves. Catch the Discovery Channel special sometime on the Doc that got breast cancer down there.

    5GZ Bandwith is preaty high. Your going to really have to start worrying about rain attenuation, especially in areas like seattle. You will prolly have to have a preaty high gain antenna.

    IBM's drives are usually rock solid. They often outlast there competors by a long shot. They had a series of about 1 or 2 drives, I forget which models Im sure someone will remember. I find that in most of my servers IBM drives last longer and perform better.

    If you're getting a game that needs a 800MHz+ computer and a GeForce+ video card, then pretty much any machine that fits that description will have a DVD drive as well.

    You did not say "average" first of all. Second of all one machine has a GeForce 3 500 Ti the other machine has GeForce 4 4400. I am both a gamer and a software hacker. What you think those two worlds dont intersect often? Avoid broad generalzations in the future.

    Ok first of all in many states verbal contracts are only binding if the value of service rendered is under 500 dollars. My cable costs me about 600 a year so I would be excluded from this.

    Secondly their is the hude regulatory issue. The airwaves are the publics, and the rights given to the channel coportations are contracted very specifically with the FCC.

    Not all games are straight games. Their is such a thing as wild cards. Most people I play with will play with wild cards, and while we concede the fact that there is no 5 of a kind hand even with wilds 4 of a kind and a royal can exist in the same game with wild cards.

    Speaking from exeperience working in the industry open source is in NO WAY RIGHT. First of all the facilties to test these thing are hella expensive. You need a complete mock up and simulators. Secondly you need a FAA clearence and speciall FAA training meetings. These also cost money. Third you need to be close to the expensive lab so you can test. 4th you need a ton of configuration managment people. 5th you need to have very tight code reviews, and security consideration.

    Well the use KDE if you want. Or if you want Gnome. Nothing is limiting you from making it shiny on the surface but you lack of effort. Matter of fact on Solaris 9 Sun is dropping CDE iirc.

    I know I will also take my lumps for this, but for big data centers solaris is ALOT better under the hood. It expodentially scales in perforamce up to 72 processors and then linerally up to 108. Sure you can make linux clusters and the like, but for rock solid stability on big iron you go with solaris.

    Having said that having the linux apis available for solaris is a good thing. Hopefully this is better than the Linux Port kit sun released, that thing failed HARD.

    Thats correct I STILL use yahoo, and I saw the original story. Why do I use it when I have my own postmail server running at home. Well I use it to give to all the online stores I register with. I however do buisness at reputable places. I am happy to say I don't get spam from them. You know what, I opted out of all the spam options from yahoo after the story and I never got one piece of spam. I don't agree with them not telling me that they opted me into spam, but at least they respect my choice when I opted out, unlike some others *cough* hotmail *cough*.

    Aproximently 35M changed hands from Logicon to Oracle, so 7.25% of that is around 2.5M, alot closer to 3 Million.

    Secondly have you ever negotiated 95Million dollar deals. You dont just write out a check, you finance the deal, hence you go to a large lender (ie Koch Financial services).
