While I, in principle, with what you have said, it is not necesarily "Liberal" thinking that puts this society in danger. It is the beliefs of BOTH extremes that put Freedom and Democracy in danger. Only true moderate thinking can keep this nation continuing as the majority of us wish it to be.

The Conservatives, for instance, have been painting anyone who doesn't agree with that as Un-American and only those that agree with them as being "Patriots".

If you look back to the founding of this nation, those that disagreed with the government, at that time King George, were called "Patriots", while those that followed the "Party Line" (Again, King George), were known as "Loyalists" and that is what we have today.

It is Patriotic to stand for Freedom and Human Decency, regardless of what our government says or does.

To be a Loyalist is to follow the government line, regardless of what the government says or does.

Every single American should ask themselves everday, "Which one am I?"

Unfortunately, that's not the case. The only thing causing people to skip the SUV is because of the intense pain in their pocketbook, from having to fill those things up a few times a week. Of course, that's due to the higher demand in oil, across the entire globe.

So in reality, there isn't a decrease, just a regular sharp increase in the amount of Greenhouse Gases being emitted into the atmosphere.

Several climatologists are suggesting that we may well be past the point of return unless drastic measures can be taken. Measures such as, virtually eliminating emissions, building systems to reclaim Greenhouse Gasses from the atmosphere and major Reforestation in areas that the rainforests have been burned away and destroyed.

Honestly, knowing how greedy we as a species can be, I don't see any of that happening. If any of that does happen, I will very seriously support the efforts in any way that I can.

I have been playing MMORPGs since the "dawn" of the modern MMORPG, that was born with Ultima Online. None have been as cool as the Pre-PK Nerf days of UO and none will ever match its one time open format. I never PK'd myself, but man it was heart pounding fun to be minding my own business and then suddenly being faced with having to run for my life and attempt to kick off a recall spell to anywhere, instead of potentially facing the loss of everything my toon was carrying.

There have been numbers of scientific reports and warnings that Saudi oil fields are nearing, if not already at, their peak.(Even though the Saudi government would never, ever admit such a thing.)

It wouldn't surprise me to find out that the actual reason Iran is looking to diversify their power into Nuclear is because their oil fields have or are reaching peak and they want to get off of oil dependence in order to still reap the rewards of selling their oil abroad.

Many of the analysts looking at the situation keeping saying its crazy that an oil rich country like Iran would want to generate electrical power via Nuclear. I have a feeling that those same analysts aren't looking at the bigger picture.

Granted, the Iranians could be just looking for Nuclear bombs, in order to light up Israel or to hold onto as a defensive measure, but I believe that changing over to Nuclear power is a big reason they are looking at Nuclear energy.
