Seriously enough, could this be used to create an Auto-Drive system for cars? It'd be nice to just lie back and go to sleep while driving a car and not worry about dying.
I have heard that the cost of flash memory will soon rapidly decline -- where are the 2 GB flash players? I don't want to carry around a hard disk as it has too many moving parts.
If you were a real nerd you'd know that recent incarnations of Cthulhu (the game) use the d20 rules.
Only the Wizards of the Coast d20 edition, which Chaosium released in order to get some needed cash. They've since dropped support for it, and the d20 book will not be republished. The classic system (called BRP) will continue to use a D100 for all skill rolls and will be free of levels.
This is joyous news for those of us who do not use the d20 system and want to see as many alternatives to it (d6, gurps, fuzion, storyteller, brp, fudge, etc.) as possible.
I think they should offer the Star Wars Holiday Special as one of the extras on these DVDs. It has all of the original cast and it is canon material. It also has a rather cool Boba Fett cartoon, for those folks out there who like the character.
Speaking of terrorists, does anyone remember the old early 90's tv show "War of the Worlds"? In it, the aliens (who had been resurrected from the '53 invasion) were using all sorts of terrorist attacks against humans in attempt to purge the earth of humanity.
Among the things they tried:
Starting a nuclear war between the U.S. and the Soviet Union with their own homemade weapons.
Poisoning major sources of food with biological weapons.
Brewing illegal drugs to turn addicts into their willing slaves.
and so on. It's even scarier today than it was back then.
Your observations are accurate. This dvd-region coding business only hurts the consumer and lowers profits by making the products harder to purchase and use.
I now reside in Japan and have brought my collection of DVDs with me. I can't find a DVD player here which is Region 1 compatible. Aside from codefree DVD (which has prices that make me weep) and Express.Com (no commentary necessary) I can't seem to find anyone who'll ship me a DVD player which will play my movies. If any of you know of a store which will ship a player internationally AND which won't charge me an arm and a leg for it, please send me an e-mail.

I don't know, but I for one am looking forward to my Soliton Radar System that will be coupled with my Codec.
What's creepy about this is how people take offense to things that are not in and of themselves offensive, such as the word "niggardly".
How can you predict what someone will find offensive? And can you be fined for "offending" someone with content that you consider acceptable ?
Yeh omg plz chk yr spellin kthnx.

True, but think how easier it would be to hack the Gibson.
Please let me know when they have some Saber Marionettes available for purchase. Mmm. ...]
[Oh god, I'm so lonely

I, for one, think that the
- Joy Luck Club
is the most horrifying movie about zombies made to date.Even with good editing and falsified television footage, I still doubt such a thing would fool us.
People believed Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, didn't they?

I orginally had designed some ASCII art for submission, but slashdot didn't think that was such a hot idea. Fair enough, I guess.
I hope that someday the robot androids from Saber Marionette J can be created, as I'd have a lot of fun with Tiger, Luchs, Lime, or Cherry.
