The best mouse input device has to be the red stick on those Thinkpad laptops. It's accurate, has a nice feel to it (as long as you use on of the big red things) and doesn't strain your hand if the mouse speed is fairly high.
I used the SuSE 10 distribution for the study, which in fact turned out quite well. It would be quite interesting to compare this to, say Gnome or just another distribution like Kubuntu. Hopefully I will get to that later.
I just can not believe that American banks only use user names and passwords as authentication method. Is that a common factor with all US banks, or just a few who do no take security seriously?
All banks(that I know of) here in Sweden have "good" security, requiring two factor authentication in the form of an ActivCard+PIN, one time passwords + PIN or other similar techniques such as certificates.
A couple of days ago I did an informal usability test, where I got someone to try installing the new SuSE 10 distribution. While there are still some quirks and odd ends, it is really coming along nicely.
Have you tried updating your phone through their website (if you have a DSS-25 sync station) or letting your store do that for you? Although I have not used the k750 much, I have abused the GUI to a large degree, and I have never experienced a crash.
I have a P910i Symbian phone, and it has never crashed due to GUI navigation. Actually, I have had it about a year now and it has rarely crashed at all. Maybe about two or three times at the most. Even though some applications have crashed, the OS has still continued working.
I always use the Adblock Firefox extension. This is mostly due to the large flash ads that often are very obtrusive.
If the ads were slightly less obtrusive, say like the Google text ads, I would consider turning the blocker off.
For example, looking at the website for a Swedish magazine called Aftonbladet without blocking ads will easily distract me from the main content because of the large flash based obnoxious ads.
It is using the same camera as their K750 phone. I have taken some shots with it and they look really amazing, being taken with a mobile camera that is.
Nice to see that they finally have a backlit qwerty keyboard!
I have a P910i and it's almost impossible to write using the keyboard when it's dark. I just wonder what Sony-Ericsson thought of when they released the P910 without some kind of light for the keyboard.
Nice to see that it has integrated wlan too! That has been the biggest thing that I miss from the P910.
I really like the use of AJAX in Google's (and others) web applications. The downside is of course that older and text based browsers won't be able to render the pages.
I have tried Google Reader and it looks good so far. I am currently importing my Bloglines RSS feeds to the Google Reader, but it takes its time. I will post an update on my site when I have done som more extensive testing of the service.
I have to agree with you. Many people say that it is bloated, but this is the way to make GNU/Linux mainstream; it need cool features and an easy setup. I mean, when my ol' grandmother can pop a Suse DVD in the drive and install it, the market is ours for the take.
Of couse, one should be able to choose what to install, which is very much the case with Suse. You can, if you want, install a bare GNU/Linux system and use as a server. It's extremely flexible.
In my office, we use both email and instant messaging. I think that they compliment each other rather well. IM is used when a discussion is needed, and email when documentation is wanted. As simple as that.. Or not.
Of course there are times when discussions occur via email, but IM just gets the job done much easier.
On my server, one can login either using OTP or public key.
It's working nicely for me, as it allows me to conveniently log in from my own computer using public key, and when I login from other computers, I just fire up an OTP client on my phone and log in.
I had a chance to try it out before it was slashdotted, and if further developed, it can be an alternative to the Opera mobile proxy which delivers smaller pages for mobile phones to reduce gprs costs.
I am currently using the standard PSU that came with the Chieftec chassi, but the next step is to get a better and quieter PSU also.
My PSU is actually reasonably quiet, so it has a low priority at the moment.
If you want to watercool your PSU you have to do it yourself I guess. Be sure to take caution when working inside the PSU if you are not proficient in that area.
The web-GUI looks exactly like the one in m0n0wall? Is this a conspiracy?
Stallman wrote an article about this last year. It's well worth the read.
A Swedish translation.
Argh, could everyone just drop the religions? They are killing our world..
Why on earth would one want iTunes when amaroK is available?
There are already lots of software for smartphones which allows you to IM over normal networks at no other cost than GPRS.
IM+ for example, has support for Google talk, Standard Jabber, AOL, MSN, ICQ, Yahoo.

Read the study.
Why has no one mentioned Miranda? It's a great piece of software with which has support for lots of protocols. Check it out!

Sorry about that little spelling mistake. Fixed now. :)

How does Kat fare against Beagle? I have used Beagle for a while and I find it really nice.
Has anyone tried Kat?

I tried downloading the torrents from the ftp a while back and it was bogged. I have a copy of them, if their servers get bogged down again at http://johnny.chadda.se/2005/10/06/suse-100-finall y-released/
:)
By the way, I have tried the 10.0 RC1 and it was really great. The only thing not working is my P910i sync, but I'll work on that.

Ah, now I know where I heard it. Thanks.
Well, just remove all the safety labels from everything and let the problem solve itself.
