    With all your mail marked as unread. Yep I can do that too. State does not get picked up by Blackberry email client so no way to tell if a message was already read or responded. Sure it supports IMAP but as I said terribly.

    Maybe corporate messaging but not for the rest of us. For instance, their imap support is terrible and if you need to get your email from an imap server you'll need another client than the native blackberry one. So you have a choice between tight integration and barely functional imap support, or functional imap with little or no integration with the rest of the system.

    Sorry emacs doesn't get to sit with vi or ed. even on Linux and FreeBSD, you'll see nano before you'll ever see Emacs there to help you rescue/setup your system. But true the rest of your statement about sysadmins needing to know many tools.

    Actually the opposite. This is the result of having educated police officers. Not sure how it works in the US but in Canada, they go through a program in school. Educated police, don't want to dirty their hands too much, or skin their knuckles taking someone down. You don't need to be in good physical shape to push a button.

    My first guess would be corrosion or some such, impeading the transmitted signal. If the connection loosens, or becomes corroded the SWR will increase because of the impeadence mis-match. The antenna is no longer ressonant so only a fraction of the full transmit power is actuallay radiated over the air.
