    as opposed to the "other side" who stand to lose a lot of financial backing/future profits/political power if global warming is shown to be a hoax... follow the money on BOTH sides of the argument... you might learn something

    the web does things better than a BBS.

    - NewGroups/FIDO vs Web Forums... IMO Web win... the age of Bluewave mailer programs and its ilk are past
    - Download BBS Files vs Download files from the web... again the Web Wins, it susually easier to browese via google for the files you want (especially pictures) than to log onto a BBS to get the File_ID.diz info or even just some sysops description.
    - the only Area in which the BBSs win are with the door games, and only if you like text style games, otherwise the Web wins again.

    sometimes things just are just no longer useful

    on one hand, these are supposed to be "adults" and learning responsibilities, so you fail to show up at class you fail to learn you fail the exams, you fail! and go back home and explain it to mommy & daddy

    on the other hand, a majority of these students are using gov't backed loans and/or grants, so as a taxpayer I want the most out of my money, which means show up and learn, I'm not paying for you to slack off.

    on yet another hand, I think there is too much emphasis on higher education, and not enough of technical schools...
