Of course it's a big deal on ./ because it's not Microsoft.

This is only a big deal becaues the previous version has a bug and this version fixed it.

It may be a convoluted piece of slow, bug-laden bloatware [slashdot.org], but it's not Microsoft,

Ok this is where I lose you. That link says that Mozilla is going to provide spam filters. How is that bloatware? Trolling? Got me.

so to the /. crowd, it's God's gift to software. By sheer number of bugs, it's buggier than Win2K!

Agian ya lost me. I use Mozilla every day. I havent found anything major. Well besides the bug they just fixed.

Before you mod me troll, I'm using Mozilla to type these words. After school is out, I'm going to back up my remaining data and low-level format my existing Win2K partition. Why do I use Mozilla? I use it because there are few alternatives out there. Konqueror? Please. Opera? If I wanted spyware, I'd stick to Windows. Galeon? Then I have to run Gnome, I'll keep my Afterstep, thank you. Chimera? Don't have a Mac (yet - got my eye on a PowerBook G4.) Guess that leaves . . . Lynx. Or (retch) Netscape. Or Mozilla.

    What about a bullet wound?
    Small and clean going in.
    Big and messy going out.

Ok first of all a bullet is designed to expand and release it's engery in the form of expansion. Thusly thats why they have little holes going in and big holes going out as the bullet expands and releases alot of it's energy. Bullets that have a full metal case do not leave big holes at all.

The other thing is like many other people have brought up that this is smaller than the size of a cell and has the mass of of aprox 1 ton. I do not know how fast it is going but I saw a post that said 400k/sec. If it does not have enough frontal area or expansion ability (very small very dense) it will squish in and snap back on the surfance and thusly cause vibrations but the hole it would leave would be extremly small. It would also produce vibration as it traveld through the object and came out the other side but agian probably not do much damage.

Like that weapon they had in the movie "eraser" was total BS. It fired a .22 of an inch projectile at near light speeds. The projectile will not expand and thusly will not release much energy. Merely punch straight through both sides and continue on untill the engery runs out.

If I'm wrong please feel free to correct me/discuss it.

Qwest also offers crappy service to the local ISP's who try to lease the lines from them. The DSL lines like to desync and qwest dosent fix them they just point fingers at the local ISP.

A)The cost of retraining all the desktop staff who NEVER learned any OS'es other than MS or hiring more
B)Cost of retraining the networking staff or hiring more staff
C)The ammount of users that would need retraining and or call the help desk 24/7

They have looked into switching but the inital cost is too high for now. If MS keeps up it's current bad pricing & security it may make them switch but I dont imagine anytime soon. My bosses need to have a red flag waved in front of them that flat out proves something before they do it. Untill then it's easier to compalin to the M$ rep than think about switching.
