A handful of exploits? Well I guess the quality of the exploits don't outdue the quanity in your mind then. Bottom line is that BIND had LARGE exploits.
While some of you are calling for MS to open their various file formats to the OpenSource movement, let's call on a few others since they are being anti-competitive too.
McDonalds - Give up the BigMac secret sauce ingrediants.
KFC - Yep, time for the secret recipe to be put up at SourceForge.
Taco Bell - Don't really want the recipe, just wanna know what the hell is in the taco meat.
Orange Cleaner - Come on, it can't just be oranges.
Not to troll, but would you have said the same thing if it was a "Gore Justice Department" as well? I mean they are #4 on the Bush AND Gore contribution list.
Jesus people, get off your soapbox. 90% of you complain about Windows but yet wish you could play the same games on Linux that you do on Windows. Yet, in recent days 2 products were announce that provide Linux people with the ability to play Windows based games and you bitch about it. What's even more amazing, is that some of you are saying it's a piece of crap..without it being released! How do you know it sucks? What if those of us who are Windows transplants said Linux sucked without trying it? You would be bitching then too. Get off your high horse and recognize that people and/or companies are trying to provide a VALUABLE SERVICE for you to use Windows games with.
Flame me and call me a troll, but sometimes the truth hurts.
I would take in to account that Benjamin Franklin was a drunk and a womanizer. He more than likely thought that up while he was drunk and getting a BJ.
Not trying to troll here, I am simply amazed at all the people that are so concerned about what length's the government will goto to "invade their privacy". Give it a rest. Ask the 5000 people at the WTC if they would have minded if the FBI had their power expanded in order to prevent the 9-11 things from happening. That's right you can't because they are dead. Ask the people on the planes if they would have minded, that's right they're dead too. Try and imagine what it would have been like if the FBI or CIA would of had the extra bit of power to do the things they want to do now. They may or may not have been able to stop it from happening, but they definately won't be able to stop things in the future from happening without laws changing. I value my privacy and rights as much as every American does, but I am more than willing to give in on some things if it helps prevent future terrorist attacks. Besides, if you're not a criminal, you really have no worries.
Seriously, let's look at that memo if it's real. They are going to take every P2P to court and suck the life out of them, win or lose. While they have them against the ropes, the offer a settlement like Napster. The RIAA gets tens of millions in a settlement as well as control over the P2P's new business model that the RIAA approves of. Meanwhile all of the different P2P users are searching for somewhere to go, and decide that they'll pay the money to download from an RIAA approved network. Sounds like they are having there cake and eating it too.

Why not just use MandrakeUpdate ? Simple and easy.
They actually did have something to that effect before Windows 2000 came out. They said it was never taken down or cracked so look how much good that would do.
The jobs are out there for the taking, but it's the people that don't want the jobs. Believe me, I would be a burger flipper if my family needed money after I got laid off. The cases of people being laid off and being forced to homeless shelters are people that won't accept anything under their "standards". If they were making 100k a year, then they believe they shouldn't take anything that's half that. Believe me, when you have a wife and kids to support, you will accept any job as long as it provides food for your family.
XM will do great at first, but the bottom line no matter how much people don't believe this is that people will miss local information. People wanna here stuff that pertains to them, they want the times the local band is playing down the street or the early morning concert announcements.
7pm to 10pm is not prime air time for radio. The prime slots are 5am to 10am and 3pm - 7pm. Saturday nights are a horrid night for radio since most people are out partying and not listening to their local station. Drive time hours are going for primo dollars.
It's widely known throughout the industry that MTV is "buyable" too with certain aspects of their network. For example, I know for a fact that there have been certain bands that have been made "Buzzworthy" for the right price. Hell, how do you think MTV get's all of the acts for half of their concerts. It's just a trade out, the band plays the concert for free or for a small price, and magically their play rate goes up for their video.
I can tell you this sort of thing happens every day. I have seen numerous times when we needed a prize to give away for a summer or fall book promotion and normally our indie or record label would "donate" a prize in exchange for us playing a new song in late night rotation. Take a listen to your favorite station between midnight and 5am and see how many new songs are playing that you normally don't hear. About 70% of all the songs we played on the overnight shift were favors to labels or indies. It's just one of those things that everyone in the industry knows about and kind of accepts. But to be honest, it's nice for the pd to have a big screen tv shipped to his house so the record companies can show their appreciation. Hell, I've even seen an extra jet ski and trailer sent to a station on "accident".

Good idea, but a $300 console, tear it apart and make it a $100 console. If you want to play PS games on it, go buy a PS2.

All of the comments remind me of the movie Meet the Parents:
"I have nipples, could you milk me?"
Only here it's:
"It has a hard drive, can we install Linux?"

Excellent post, I couldn't have said it better.
In any criminal matter, anything that happens over state lines is a federal offense. IE: transporting weapons, drugs, etc.

So if I undertsnad right...you are claiming shananigans. I do believe this is a valid case of shananigans.
Where exactly are the inflatable speaker wires going to plug into?
I am serious...and don't call me Yahoo!
/insert other Airplane! reference here
Does that mean I can spin it a positive way?
"We can't just sit back and think about Microsoft."
Maybe he's saying that MS has sat around saying it wasn't there problem, and now he is taking it on himself to say it is they're problem?

It's the Bush administration because the DOJ is part of his goverment, not because Bush actually ordered it.
You were saying?
I would read the BBC article if I wanted to know about the British government but since this is the US..... :)

if you are not an MSDN library subscriber, as I have yet to get this email and we have a library subscription.
