And the G4 stayed at the same MHz for how long after its release? IIRC, new 450's were released after the 500 had come out. I know that it was a Motorola thing, not a Apple thing, but still. Apple is not known for its relationship with suppliers / vendors / re-sellers. IBM has become the only friendly port in the current storm. Let's hope SJ doesn't fsck that up too...

Which is why Sting, U2, blah blah blah all have thier won studios at home. $500,000 one time hardware expense is better than $250,000 for every album just to pay for the people there, much less the studio rental fees / cocaine / whiskey / beer / girls / boys / whatever.
Ah yes, this used to be true. After 9-11 if the word "terrorist" was used, people felt safe that our government was doing the right thing, regardless of if it infringed upon our basic rights as citizens of the USA. Of note, these changes were never a matter of public election by those that it would affect the most.
Is it just me, or do airplanes fly through all these different signals all the time, at the most critical points of a flight; take-offs and landings?
IMO, the airlines are going for the annoyance factor, and just claiming safety to shut everyone up. I must admit, it does not bother me in the least.

If you use grip on linux, there have been very nice speed increases in the last year. My slow ass 24x cd-rom in my P3 500MHz Thinkpad will rip at 1.9x and encode at the same time at 1.4-1.6x

Well... I would like to see Apple do well. Offering a new service that has gotten massive hype in the media as of late, to all of 2% of new computer buyers, and maybe 5% of personal computers (I am being generous with that...) in total, is the perfect recipe for failure. By the time it is available for the other 90% of the market, nobody will care anymore. Apple figured out the part where the iPod is not Mac or Windows specific, but the new service is?
Further proof that Jobs is over-rated, and over-paid.
Regarding the original idea behind MP3.com versus todays announcement by Apple of their new 99cent per song service? Do you think this is a viable product in todays online environment?
Blue looked nice, although I was expecting a true "XBOX Green" controller.
Of course, I bought a GC, so it doesn't really matter to me... just a note.
iMac is also AE ready. iBook is last one without, and it just had a speed bump a week ago, so...
It's what the computer came with.

How many people:
$ sudo rm foo
when the are having problems? How many actually know what sudo does? Right up there with:
"zap your pram"
"repair your permissions"
Gran Turismo 3 (F1 cars rule!)
Quake3Arena (love the mods)
right side 1/4 way down...
cool
screenshot of something not real old... 1987. Still works.

Why do I enter my zip code to be taken to a form that correctly picks my cable company, only to ask what town and zip code I live at...?

Comparing a laptop made in 1999 with a desktop made in 2001 is a bit of a stretch...

That is why I gave Apple 2.5 times bigger share than their current sales figures state. But you knew that... right?
I second that!
It's not very often that government can help, use it when ever possible.
Although, I don't see the point of using Bobby to begin with...

can be used on 3 different Macs at the same time.
i can't argue about the quality of arists offered... blech!
Surprise surprise! The new store is Mac only... why? Oh that's right; to leverage hardware sales!
*sigh*
