Most people will still be faster with any sort of keyboard. It's not intended as a competitor to a keyboard, though. On the web page [cam.ac.uk] I read that "Dasher is a competitive text-entry system wherever a full-size keyboard cannot be used".
Can you see the difference between 'any sort of keyboard', and 'full-size keyboard'? Have you seen those new fangled mobile phone / PDA's? Idiot.
Can the slashdot editors not post the link using this funky link (http://www.majcher.com/nytview.html) so that some person doesn't need to do this every time?
Going by your logic, there's no way I'm paying to be in a health gambling pool with guys who live off pizza and high-caffeine drinks, in the dark, smoking heavily and sitting down all day (and night)...
Thats pretty cool. I just hope that porn sites start rewarding regular viewers with a Health Plan. Then maybe I'd be able to do something about my rapidly deteriorating eyesight!
Whoopee-do - I was doing it twenty years ago with paper and pen - after I'd finished my school work, I'd draw hanged men, penis, boobs and that girl lay back with her legs spread open - beat THAT!

I think there is nothing more to this than coincidenses and malfunction in the robot.
I hope you're not trying to say that this robot didn't work out it's position in the world and time / space continuum, then decide to make a break for it based on all the possible factors, Sherlock.
There are no virii on Linux, because (relatively) no-one uses it. Your solution: everyone should use it. Nice one.

is it just me or does every article have to have a reply with "pr0n" in it
I hope you're not trying to insinuate that computer nerds are obsessed with 'pr0n'? Someone might sue;-0!
Incidentally, using gay-ass language such as 'pr0n' marks you out as someone who will always need to use 'pr0n' since w0m3n will never come near your sweaty ass!
In New Zealand, it's only theft if you "permanently and intentionally deprived" someone of something. I argue that it is NOT stealing, as they were deprived of nothing.
What about their right for you not to infringe their copyright?

So it is ok to hack if you are rich but not if you just do it for fun.
Yeah, next they'll be allowing police to shoot armed criminals!
Oh.
Mainstream operating systems which drop support [slashdot.org] for the virtual machines?
Yay! First off-topic anti-MS post - mod this up!!!

I was doing that 10 years ago with optical cards.

Ever heard of a metaphor?
:)
If you copy someones work in school, you're STEALING their work aren't you?
But if it makes you feel all clever to nitpick, go right ahead...
Or the stuff i kept and DIDNT pay for, i never would have in the first place.. so no-one actualy lost any revenue...
Just because they didn't lose any revenue doesn't make this not stealing.
GERSH KUNTZMAN !?!?!?
A made-up name if ever I heard one!
I don't know about the author of the article, but I'm pretty sure I'm using more than 10% of my brain.
Maybe you should have used any you aren't using, then you might have closed your I tag...
Jesus christ, how hard is it?
"Their not half-empty, their half-full."
Hmmm, nearly. The story says half-full, so your quip should have said 'half-empty'.
See, some people only see the negative. I see the ink cartritge as half full.

A guy I know did a project in lego mindstorms and lejos as part of his final year,
I don't want to piss on his bonfire at all, but his final year of what - pre-school?
We produced robots for each of the behaviours demonstrated a 1-semester robotics course, hardly a massive final year project.
