I agree.... stuipd is as stupid does. BTW, which Mac virus did you help the "Mr. Mac-user-man-who-got-a-virus-and-said-"but that's impossible, it's a Mac, they don't have viruses"" with anyhow?
"Oh, and while you can probably say that most, if not all, of the new features are taken from OS X or Linux or what-have-you -- just because somebody else had it first doesn't mean that it's not an improvement."
Macworld UK compared the performance of identically configured Macbooks - one white and the other black, and found some performance differences that pegged the white MacBook as slightly faster in many tests. Different HD manufactures accounted for some of the differential, and the white model bested the black one on MPEG 2 encoding as well as rendering the aged video effect in iMovie.
So, essentially that black paint is $200 + dollars.... not exactly a bargain unless you end up spending that in non-acetone nail polish remover for the white MacBook.
Conspiracy or not, this recent release gives us precious little more information that the original 5 frames released from this angle. What about the rest of the tapes??
You are correct. It had absolutely nothing to do with the Moussaoui trial. How could it have ANY bearing on his guilt or innocence? Such bullshit. If the government wanted to put this to rest for all time, they would have been better off releasing this material AND the material from the hotel and gas station cameras long ago. Waiting this long just raises suspicions of a government mired in crooked dealings and lying to it's public.
"Of course, the cost of doing nothing is much lower in the long run."
I understand your sarcasm, and support it. I am continually amazed at the mindset of those who would take no action to scale back our species contribution to the greenhouse gas issue, and our effect on the closed ecosystem we inhabit. The argument regarding the cost of retooling for lower emissions seems to come from those who have the most to gain financially from not altering their business model and those unwilling to alter their lifestyle to one with a smaller environmental footprint. Yeah, it's getting warmer, and it's not all our fault, but we have contributed to the problem. Instead of inhabiting the island of denial, think about the financial/social impact of things like changes in ocean level, the ozone layer, plankton levels, alteration of weather patterns, and attendant disruptions in conditions for agriculture, the impact of natural disasters.
Explain to me, then how it is a bad thing to cut our green house gas emissions, which seem to be accelerating the melting of global ice cover, and thawing of permafrost (think methane and CO2 released). Also explain why it is "too costly" to reduce our reliance on combustible fossil fuels, which contribute to the particulate matter ejected into out atmosphere. What is wrong with eliminating smog in out large cities? Why is it so difficult for some people to see that this is not a partisan issue, it is one of greed and power.
Some of us can look beyond how "cheap is my gas" and "does the electricity flow when I flick the switch?".
Since Lucas was quotes some time ago that he would let "others" call more of the shots in the TV series (AICN), I hold a tiny bit of hope for a show that will be CHARACTER driven as much as FX driven. I hope they take a cues from the new Battlestar Galactica, and Firefly. Keep George away from the dialogue, and it just might be worth a look.
Betamax was super to VHS... the tech is still used in professional applications today (Betacam). What bit Sony in the ass is they refused to licence their tech, whereas JVC wasn't so protectionist in it's outlook.
I did not upgrade my NAV and NDD for MacOS 9 when I made the leap to OS X. Not only was there a big lag in having OS X compatable versions, but there were other developers that lept into the breach with better product, at least as far as disk tools go. I will never go back from Disk Warrior.
Symantec is clearly crapping it's pants. They have recently been attempting to strike fear of impeding virus doom on the OSX platform, especially since their revenues from that part of the market have dried up significantly. If MS offers a product with hooks into it's OS and attractive bundles, it may very well be game over for Symantec.
You forgot the 3-D versions. George went on record awhil eback saiying that this was possible and he would like to re-release the entire set of films in 3-D. UGH.
With the supplied SD card is capable of holding 120 songs AFAIK. I'm not in the market for the ROKR, but I sure as hell wouldn't be pissed over 20 songs... just slightly frustrated.
IMAX theatres have a discreet 6 channel sound system: LS, L, C, R, RS Center Top, and a sub derived from the sum off all channels with a crossover below 80Hz. IMHO, 13.1 is unrealistic considering the cost of the hardware from audio post to presentation... can you imagine the panning and bussing requirements for a theatrical film? Post houses would easily have to quadruple the amount DSP in their consoles (if that was possible with the current designs), and add WAY more stem recorders to the process for what sonic gains? Has anyone given any thought to the phase issues that would arise panning a sound through a room with that number of speakers? IMAX has a proprietary system for playing back the UNCOMPRESSED mixes off of hard disks synchronized to the pix.... would conventional theatres have to consider retooling and going double system to handle all that data? Not gonna happen.
*The key to the free market system here is that the studios need the audience way more than the audience needs them. Without an audience they will starve and die, without high-def movies, we'll just watch DVDs, read a book or do something else like go skiing.*
Exactly. If engaging content is not made available, viewership will decline. In the grand scheme of things, it's just one form of entertainment, and nothing anyone can't live without. This coming from someone who makes a "living" in the industry.
It gave me a ceally crazy map to my studio in Toronto, though. From Markham to Lansdowne & Dundas, it had me on the 407 to 400, back across the 401 to the DVP, down Gardiner to York st. and across Dundas to Landsdowne.
More like a ride with a drunken cab driver.
Nice interface, but I hope the logic improves.... or do they know something I don't??

It may be an improvement, just not innovation.

Time to rebrand: Lie Bold

Great.. give the thought police more of a leg up.
My problem with Canadian politics is that it tends to be reactionary, going from one extreme to the other.
C-
Show your work.
Well, we all know Harper is an ass.

Most telling is an image search comparison on Tiananmen Square. China returns pastoral images while UAS returns mostly images tanks and protest.

Right... so we're supposed to buy in to this Microsoft Lockin Tactic (tm) while they rail at Apple for it's iTunes/iPod lockin stratagy?
Pot... Kettle.....anyone?

I had fun doing that in the IMAX Nascar film I worked on. I think there were three!
most of which you will not like....
"put that freakin sandwich down!"
