Dear Strawman, When California had their recent fires, the media was climate change this and climate change that. But, the area of forest burned per annum is much less than a century ago. Climate change is so political, its hard to see the science anymore... even from the scientists.
If you had of bought/made bitcoin for $1 and next week it went to $2.50.. then the value started sliding back, and you sold for $2: would have you patted yourself on the back for your 100% gain? It could have been the case that when you sold for $2, it kept going down to zero. The fact it went to $20k is a once in a generation fluke.
Yep, got this buying at used merc dealer. I felt sorry for the guy: it was like his life depended on that ranking. Screw management for creating guilt trip ranking.
I think your logic is flawed. In a restaurant inspection system, the goal is food safety. If you are not making people sick because you are following basic best practice, that's an A. Same with UBER. If the driver gets me from A:B in a clean car without causing me hassles. That's 5 stars.
By ranking people like you suggest, it penalizes people for nothing to do with the service. It becomes like Microsofts ranking system that forces 10% to be sacked every year even though they may be performing fine. In a bad mood, downrank. Bad traffic, downrank. Didn't smile at me in time, downrank.
It's a great question. Every time I've tried pushing Libre to staff in 5 minutes they've come back with something that doesn't format right. When it costs $100/hr for each of you to be distracted, the cost of the office license becomes insignificant. Governments should have forced MS to FULLY open their file format spec, but Billy Gates being the evil prick forces us to pay the MS tax because we all have other more pressing issues to solve.
So given McDonald's employs 1 Million staff, that work out to 42c/week per employee.
I still think $21.7m is outrageous, but when you are controlling a 100 billion dollar business, 1% increase in their $5.5B annual profit is twice the CEO wage.
The question is, what performance difference does a $1M CEO bring vs a $21.7M one?
The mainstream media behave like petulant children that didn't get their way. Their attacks on trump and Putin just read like nonsense now. Putin is not the boogeyman, China is.
He totally debunks the lefts idea that the lack of black/female students in stem is because of the white patriarchy by showing a high correlation between countries that are highly egalitarian (such as the Nordic countries) and those that are not (such as India) showing the STEM ratio of men to women get WORSE when females are given more free choice. The whole SJW, patriarchy thing is being driven by far left ideologues who don't really want to help the people they claim to support, but are after power so they can force their ideology on everyone. Equality of opportunity not outcome!
OP Here. Yes, we have those in Brisbane and rarely see them used. Our climate is hot in summer, helmets are mandatory we have lots of hills and the bikes look like something your grandmother would only ride. It takes a lot of infrastructure to implement and limits you to specific geographic points cf. share bikes which have no 'home' and get dumped, stolen and busted.
The share bike thing has been a disaster in Australia. Mostly because we are not very mature, so bikes have ended up in rivers, blocking footpaths, damaged and being such a nuisance is that councils are fining bike share companies $2500 per bike found littering public land. It might work better in asia where there is more social responsibility, but not in OZ and probably not in the USA either.
I keep trying to get people to use Libre, but within a day there is always whining about incompatibilities. So paying the micro$oft tax is cheaper than the productivity loss.
There was an interesting Jordan Peterson podcast recently where says the US military has determined if your IQ is below 83, you cannot add any value to the military. This turns out to be 10-15% of the population. So while automation is great and all, how are we going to keep dumb people gainfully productive in society. Its a difficult problem.
WA is using a few transparent bins to 'raise a conversation' http://www.abc.net.au/news/201... They should make this mandatory for recyling bins so you can see if people are contaminating it. Fun Fact: I heard pizza boxes are not recyclable because of all the oil from the pizza soaking into the cardboard!
De beers have been ruthless in monopolizing the market and creating the perception of value to a woman. When a woman wants a material sign of love, she wants the man to hurt. Not in a punitive way, but in a show me a sacrifice that gives me a tangible proof of your love way. When I bought my wife her weeding ring (Oh the 4 C's...), I couldn't see the value in this little stone but believe me it creates tangible value to her. That's fine by me. It didn't define our relationship but it is a part of the complex give and take that makes for healthy relationships. It's like flowers. Flowers bought from the quikie mart, have a different 'sacrifice' value to flowers bought from a florist.
So guys, that synthetic diamond may be a good price, but when she finds out, you'll be loosing brownie points!
It seems venmo is a peer to peer payment app that also lets you leave social media comments. In fact the platform started as a text messaging service. Its seeing huge growth with Millennials to 'settle up' with each other. Think, your drinks tab, sharing a cab, selling a game.
I think us lower UIDs, who have a solid memory of Hitler, Stalin, Mao, remember that spying was the key to rounding up millions of 'non conformists' for imprisonment or extermination. Young people don't have this historic memory of how psychopaths in power can misuse this information.
Statistically the world is becoming more peaceful and perhaps us oldies are just paranoid: time will tell!
If you buy something and you have opened the package and the item was undamaged and as described, there should really be no right of return unless you pay a restocking fee. How is fair on the retailer if you made a bad purchasing decision. Retailers have bought this upon themselves.
The fuss is because it benefited Trump. The company scraped a bunch of publicly available info; if it were Obama or Hillary people would be falling over themselves to call it brilliant strategy.
The CIA must be about the most evil organisation on the planet. There are really just quasi government thugs working primarily for very big business: arranging overthrows of governments to ensure good trade deals and that the petro dollar is maintained.
:) I was implying Ajit was even cheaper than Judas! I'm always astounded how cheap senators can be bought for legislation that works against their constituents.

Used to be able solder 0603 resistors with my 5cm super eyes. Now my arms are getting to short!

They just need a good dose of Jordan Peterson.

Just for the record, Married >15 years, never divorced, 3 kids, all very happy.

Ajit must be loving his 10 pieces of silver. Hope it was worth it for the price of your soul.
Wasn't last pass recently bought by Log Me In who's current business practice is double their prices every year.
We have been looking for a corporate password manager, and last pass was a contender until we found out who owned them.
