I would also add that ISIS was created by the USA from the leftover Saddam Baathists after their pointless invasion of IRAQ. It's crazy to think that the 9/11 terrorists came mostly from Saudi Arabia, but bush attacks Saddam who himself was an ex CIA asset.
Saudi Arabia is a nasty country, promoting extreme Islam, but I hear they get a pass because they promised to support the petro dollar in exchange for protection.

We would have close to 50% men women. Here are some of my observations:

-In 25 years (50 hires) we have never had one woman apply for an engineering role (mech, electrical, electronic, programming), except for last week when my bus partners daughter took on a mech eng role.
-We have mostly women in our production department (purchasing, stores, assembly) and both accountants are female.
-We are hyper aware of staff with attitude problems and are very proactive to correct their behavior or move them on.
-We have had to move on both men and women in equal numbers for poor performance/attitude issues.
-We use an interview technique that is effective at weeding out people with obvious bad attitudes.
-I have multiple times received unsolicited praise for how great a workplace culture we have.

So, while I'm sure some workplaces can turn into 'Lord of the Flies', and women are certainly more emotional communicators, if you have management that actively manages the underlying relationship culture, you can create a workplace where people thrive.

  12. Google Culture on YouTube Bans Firearms Demo Videos, Entering the Gun Control Debate (bloomberg.com) · · Score: 5, Insightful

Google is increasingly made up of left leaning philosophies.

Their logic is: kids are mass murdering with guns: lets stop teaching them how to use them lest we are complicit.
The logic is flawed because they really should be asking:
Why are so many young men so angry at the world that they want to wreak destruction on it. That is the right question, because there are societies with lots of guns (eg switzerland) that don't have young men shooting up schools. Guns are a symptom of a deeper cultural problem.

The left are trying to divide everyone into social groups that are victims. This doesn't help angry young men and only makes the problem worse especially white ones who are told they are the new scum of the earth.
The message needs to be: the world is chaos, and your job is to reduce the chaos through sacrifice. Find something in the world that needs fixing, that makes the world a better place, and strive as hard as you can to fix it. Sacrifice means putting off todays gratification for a better future. A surgeon spends 15 years of hard work before he is an expert saving lives and creating order.

  16. Mains frequency is normally very stable long term.

    Have a look here http://jorisvr.nl/article/grid...
I would say, because of all the new renewable energy providers, it has been a much more difficult job to synchronize every body.

Imagine you have a 10 ton flywheel in front of you and it is rotating at 49.9 times per second but you want it to be 50, and there are 300 little motors all driving the flywheel. Your job is to now coordinate everybody to match 50Hz, but where the load on the flywheel varies minute to minute. In the old days, big old power stations could slowly influence this average frequency, but now there are hundreds of windmills and solar inverters and gas turbines and nuclear and coal, all with their unique issues.

  17. Thats true. No other European manufacturer did it. Nope. Not one. Just VW.

    You sure....
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...

  18. That is only treating the symptom.
The cause is a regression in society where people are looking inward and not outward.

Jordan Peterson has a brilliant lecture on the story of Cain and Abel. Cain and Able bring a sacrifice to God, and God says to Abel (paraphrased).
I'm not pleased with your sacrifice, but you have a choice to make a better sacrifice, but you need to choose. Instead of choosing a better sacrifice, Cain broods on his failure until it results in the murder of his own brother. and this is what is happening in the USA.

We are different to Animals because we can plan for the future. Planning for the future requires sacrifices in the present, it's a brilliant concept. But if you're a 14 year kid trying make sense of the world, and your attempt at sacrifices keep getting rejected, well you could be in a world of trouble.
This culture increases the number of selfish, feeling sorry for themselves, life sucks, I hate the world, I want revenge on the world baby psychopaths: who when combined with the easy accessibility of weapons, create chaos.

The answer to this problem is super hard, because it requires some fundamental cultural changes that shun the plastic materialism the USA pioneered and embraces and outward looking attitude of what can I do to better the world.

btw. the SJWs are only going to make the problem worse, because they are the 'what about me' generation and dividing people into oppressed minorities.

We have a high end induction range and it is amazing. I can get a pan searing hot in 30 seconds. You can buy single and dual portable induction cooktops.
Another tip is to use a pressure cooker. This is great for making cheap cuts of meat tender.

I was just telling my 3 boys about that little peterson nugget last night.

  23. I think you really should listen to some of Petersons material. He is one the best minds thinking about this subject.

The strategy of the hard left is to stratify people into classes of 'victims'. For example, transgender people are victims, so Canada has legislated that in certain circumstances you must use some new made up pronouns such as Ze. If you don't there could be a fine. If you don't pay the fine, I assume you could go to jail.
His argument is that just as Stalin made people subservient to the state (instead of the state serving the people), the hard left is working hard (via humanities courses in university, from which new politicians are created) to make the state have much more power over the individual, by for example commanding your speech with these new made up pronouns. He afraid they are doing this purely for power.

I've been listening a bit lately to Jordan Peterson, a Canadian psychology professor.
He thinks SJW's and their identity politics are really similar to the marxist ideology that caused so much suffering in Russia.
Thus I think we need to be playing close attention to people like the Zuk.
