    Well, in 1992 and 1993 the Toronto Blue Jays won the World Series, and still continue to be a functioning baseball team to this day. Last time I checked, Toronto was in Canada, which, contrary to popular belief, is not in the US.

    On the flip side, they seem to be the only Canadian team left in Major League Baseball.

    I don't really see anything in your post about how will it kill the industry. Sounds to me like it will just kill pre-ordering. People who want the game will still buy it, pre-order or not.

    We can only hope... but that assumes they can figure out how the plane was destroyed (break-up, explosion, etc) and how they got said materials on to the aircraft before the next wave of bombings.

    Unfortunately, you're correct from no matter which camp you look at it from. Windows converts will say "My XP machine booted much faster than this!" and the Linux people will just say "You rebooted your computer?"

    But seriously, it looks nice. The support for the codecs and the clean KDE theme is going to make it worth trying out on a test machine at home. Always looking for something I can set up for people who want to lock down computers for their kids.

    I don't consider ordering NASA to build/refurb science labs for colleges, or a "website and labratory for the Gulf of Maine Aquarium" (from the article, did you even read it?) as part of the mission, or priorities as you put it, for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

    Another reason is that with the economy perpetually on the verge of collapse, your investment in a masters degree will stand you in good stead when competing for nearly any job.

    Having a master's degree will likely put you at a disadvantage for most jobs, as companies will see you as a person who feels entitled to more salary. If they can hire Joe Schmoe with just a BA (or BS) degree to do the job at $15k/year less, what makes you think that having an MA (or MS) will stand you in good stead?

    Even better, sync the forward and rear facing SRB cams with the external camera (the one they usually show on the televised portions) and the audio commentary ("Main engine start..." etc). I'm sure if NASA had released MPEG footage of all that, somebody would have it done already.

    Its all running a little slow now...

    Anyways, if you haven't seen it yet, check out the right SRB looking-down-o-cam. Great shot of the shadow of the smoke trail, and as the main orbiter engines light off you can see the whole orbiter start to press up on the structure. Then the explosive bolts blow and the boosters rip to life. Very cool.

    It also rewarded you for just sneaking around, stealing and not getting caught. At the time, it was the only game in the FPS category that you could complete without killing anyone. Even now, I haven't seen a game where you could do that.

    Emphasis mine... Strange, as I have Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory at home. The only way to get 100% complete on any level is to not kill anybody while still completing all objectives.

    Instead of having kids, they are wasting money on travel and fashion. Does this make them richer?

    People at work tell me to never get married, and to never have kids. So, going on that logic, yes, it does make them richer.

    I have the Sennheiser RS 110 model in my lab. Wireless, and open stage so I can still hear people. I have a mirror on the computer monitor, but can usually hear people walk up if I want to (read: volume isn't hella loud). Cost me $80 or so, and I can walk to the john and still hear my music, if I want to. Battery life is pretty good too. I use them almost every [work] day for a few hours and have to replace the batteries about every 2 months or so.

    Great sound, excellent bass response.

    If it was a normal person bring a claim against the defendant, it would be thrown out, but the RIAA keeps a few people in the legal system employed with the number of high-profile cases they keep bringing, so it isn't in their (the court's) best interest to publically humiliate one of their sources of work.

    One could argue that, but then with the state of the lame-ass lawsuits this country (the US, BTW) is in, the courts are plenty busy already, IMO.

    The instructor was convinced that Exchange can't support how many emails that companies need yet, I just came off a build of Exchange that supports 19,000 users across thousands of geographic sites, all managed from a single location. Is it sheer hatred, or is it totally just idiocy on the part of those guys?

    Maybe they're trying to sell you RH Enterprise whatever. As you pointed out, Microsoft does the same thing with their "Get the Facts" program. When it comes down to a cash money, people will do almost anything to make the sale.

    Even if the police were called regarding stalking and even if there was evidence on the DVD that could be used as evidence, the correct thing (IANAL etc) would be for the police to seize the original DVD, NOT for the MPAA to arbitrarialy decide what could and could not be used as evidence in a potential criminal case.

She said [Kirby] Dick spied on the members of the MPAA's Classification and Rating Administration, including going through their garbage and following them as they drove their children to school.

    So, if a private investigator does it, its an investigation. But if a film maker does it, its stalking?

    AV software - they didn't notice it, and it auto updated itself.

    Ours does that too, but it also runs an automated full system scan every day. At 7pm. Now, my usual hours, and for some of my coworkers too, are 9am-6pm with an hour lunch. Sometimes, I work late. Its a really big pain in the ass to have the scan start in the background and consume 50 to 75% CPU while I'm trying to get work done.

    You also forgot to mention any site with a web form that asks for the user's sex. In high school, the filtering software they used would not let us go to online college applications because the web form asked for "Sex". Oops! Sex = pr0n! Blocked! Darn, there goes my future.
