  1. Re:Cheaper Solution on Microsoft to Sue Cybersquatters · · Score: 0, Insightful

Since when is a domain name on the internet intellectual property? What the hell kind of assinine view holds that a company (or any entity for that matter) automatically has rights to every type of medium that might contain the ability to market their product and or service? The internet wasn't built for that in the first place, just because companies have commercialized it to a large degree doesn't give them some special claim, or at least it shouldn't. Normally I come down HARD on the side of capitalism, but I think some important fundamentals are being overlooked here or purposely brushed aside for the almighty $currency.

As for a rebuttal, its difficult to know where to start, since its obvious there are so many misconceptions floating around in that thing you call a "brain", a whole project would have to be defined and planned in an enterprise management system to even know where to begin.

Or as the previous poster already observed, you could just be a fucktard. Heads/Tails.

Google should use the enormous power it wields. Tell Viacom they are being dropped immediately from any search results. Anything that references them or leads to any of their sites or properties, are effectively GONE. That's what I'd do, and Viacom would have no recourse, no legal action. Google doesn't HAVE to return search results for them. Then we'd find out how fast the fat little corporate piggies would squeal when the traffic and subsequent dollars they get from having visitors find them for whatever the myriad of reasons that they would be being searched for. Of course, Google won't do this, because, well, they're corporate screws now too. Sure would be nice though.

Political differences mean the world to those on the left, whereas we'll do business with anyone because hey money is money, but from their side, they'll change vendors in a heartbeat if you don't tow the line and they find out about it. Thats why we keep mum about it when dealing with them. You're leading a very sheltered life if you think this is not the way it is. Disagree if you want, but you're just wrong.
