There is no definitive list, but I've always liked the way SPOnG does it. Split off point of view and dimensionality and then use a structured list of genres and apply up to three per title.
You can see their genre list on their search page as well as their POV and dimensionality lists.
Revolving the bricklayers doesn't make innovative buildings if they are stuck with the same architects. Or the architects are stuck with management that says "that building sold well, make seventeen more of it"
Remember that at the same time, rising petrol prices will make it less efficient to deliver to local shops, so their prices will rise faster than centralised store chains like Wal-mart.
[correction] "(Universal Media) Disc" not "Universal (Media Disc)" i.e. it's the media that the disc can contain that is universal, not the use of the disc its self.
Doesn't make it much different from any other digital format, but calling it PSP Disc would have sealed its fate much quicker. Micro Blu-Ray has a ring to it, but since they are pushing Blu-Ray as HD and the UMD format is only about 1.8 GB, that's out too.
You can watch it in the UK by paying your TV license.
Or you can pay for it some other way.
The DRM in IMP is aimed at stopping people from outside the UK getting their hands on content funded by UK license payers' money, with out paying anything.
This is actually quite a good idea from Microsoft.
Hold on, let me explain, put the pitchfork down.
Most consoles have huge date one allocations and sell out. There is then a huge gap while the manufacturer re-supplies, eventually things settle down to normal sales figures and supply can match demand.
If MS limit the number of sales on day one, they can keep units flowing into stores instead of having a slump. You'll keep people coming back and retailers won't have dry periods when they've sold out and are waiting for more stock.
Why, oh why can't Slashdot always link to coral cache instead of keep on killing servers?
Same reason as ever. People live behind corporate firewalls. Get a coral-like system that works on port 80 and you're on to a winner. Until then, not gonna happen.
Because that's what a new and innovative piece of gaming hardware needs - tired old ports from other platforms.
What the DS needs are games that set it apart from the rest of the gaming platforms out there, not games that make it look like a portable PC, just because a touch screen can take the place of a mouse.
Just another Nintendo-naysayer with no idea what he's talking about.
I just had to jump in here and correct your ill-informed assumption.
Owain is the editor of the UK's only trade magazine for games developers. He speaks to developers on a daily basis, is privvy to much more information than you and is exceptionally fair mided and even handed in his industry commentary.
You seem to have touble with people who present facts.
I have had Outlook screw me over with the 2GB limit twice now. I know, I should have seen it coming the second time, but a mail loop from a fax server can really ruin your day.
PST files are another MS "filesystem in a file" format. When a PST file reaches 2GB, Outlook tries to add more data, but the internal file pointer wraps. Two pieces of data with the same pointer value and things go to shit quickly.
These days, Outlook recognises the fact it's done it and tells you. Previously it just happily went around overwriting data.
Er, it's woefully inadequate?
Where would you put Space Invaders that differentiates it from Quake? They both seem to fall into "Action".

Why link to the original article when you can link to some blog that quotes it?
PSP sold 185,000 in the first two days in the UK alone.
I don't think Europe is as sewn up as Nintendo fans would like you to believe.

It's a crazy plan, but it might just work.
Both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray require VC-1. It's mentioned in TFA.

Yeah, but they were being played "live" on G5 Macs.
Because if everybody waits for 4-5 months, there will be no scene to gauge. Almost half a year with no hardware sold will kill most consoles dead.
Be happy that there are poeple willing to buy them on day one, otherwise sheep like yourself will have noone to follow.

Well a dead pixel shows up as black, but a stuck pixel stays turned on, red, green or blue. So there is a difference.
I believe they go in the USB ports on the back. So does the wireless network adapter.
Yeah, but according to this story at SPOnG the straight conversion was Dollars to Euros and the UK will be paying £209.99 and £279.99.
This is also confirmed by trade magazine MCV.
And actually, that's what the GI.b story says too.
Well, Play have UMD movies up already.
172 so far, prices between £9.99 and £15.99 on the first page.
