    OK friends, before we get into some highly speculative terrain here, let's get some facts straight:
    The solar constant (see for example here is about 1.somethin kW per Square meter.

    That simply means you need quite some substantial area irradiated by bright sunlight to obtain a given amount of energy.

    I think this is a limiting factor for many interesting ideas out there..

    Guess you're talking about SuSE 9.0 ..

    no problem with usb mice here whatsover My USB mouse works like a charm on 9.0

    However My SuSE 9.0 is an upgrade from 8.2 - so there might be differences on a fresh install of 9.0 - my personal exprience is thar 8.2 was _A_LOT_ more stable and better tested than 9.0

    These are laws of nature and you cannot argue about those.

    pretty interesting stuff, especially the color comparison..

    Well I just tried to match the colors of the two pictures and the results are ..interesting.

    You can try it yourself:
    xv mercolor.jpg
    In the color editor change From 330, 30,CW to 164, 87,CW
    As a result the soil looks a little greenish-red while the sky still retains its color..
    The picture still looks quite real!

    Let's think about it: Water is Hydrogen Oxide -
    and Hydrogen is the most common element in the universe.
    So if you've got some Oxygen somewhere you're most likely to get some water then (bang!)

    If you think about it: tons and tons of solar material hitting earth - this matter being mostly hydrogen.

    Hydrogen and the Oxygen of our atmosphere (boom!) => Water!

    Maybe offtopic but anyway:

    Reminds me of a story my dad told me one day:

    It's about a german private named "Eisenhauer" that became a POW of the Russians in WW2.

    Somehow he never understood why he always seemed to get a special treatment - actually they (the Russians) were always very polite to him and seemed to treat him in a special way, almost like an officer which he wasn't.

    As it turned out later, he came from the same village as Pres. Eisenhower's ancestors... (somewhere close to Pirmasens - Germany)

    From the screenshots, looks like they upgraded the theme of YaST 2 to Keramik and changed the default theme colour to blue. Good stuff.

    fyi: those things were already changed with SuSE 8.1

    Actually this is what I've been waiting for some time now!

    In fact I think it's a great idea to get away from the "kitchen sink" type of software packages and move on to more specialized programs that focus on one task and do it right!

    Well, let me tell you somethong:

    My Dad, - he is now 70+ and completely new to computers - prefers Linux to Windows XP. He's never seen older windows versions and he's completely unbiased.

    FYI: the linux version of choice is Suse 8.0

    So post in the UD Forums suggesting a Linux client. If enough Linux users do this, I'm sure they'll eventually seek to please them.

    that's a very valid point actually! If you have a look at the statistics here for example, you'll see that Linux is very likely to be operating system No 2 in the world today!!

    Well does that mean that MS Office will eventually be able to import Openoffice documents which are XML based?

    That might be a big benefit for them. One of the main reasons why I have never considered using MS Office yet is their miserable support for Import filters. They cannot even handle Lotus' fileformats correctly..
