Oh... so this is what AT&T has done so that it will be able to allow MMS and tethering with the iPhone now? And here I was, thinking that AT&T was just not wanting to allow it. I had no idea that Usenet usage was taking up so much bandwidth!:p
Actually, they SAY they don't support Debit/Credit cards, but in all actuality they do. I used one when I got my Beta kit back in September, and it worked just fine.
I know for a fact that if you're the host of the game in MotoGP, you start the game when you feel like it.
Because we all know how easy it is in grade school & high school to do something that clearly makes you stand out (like refusing to stand and recite the pledge).
Yeah, kind of like when you stand out for not wanting to participate in sex before marriage or smoking pot.
I am actually for the Pledge as it is, but this previous post pisses me off even more. Let's teach our children that while yes, it's actually difficult to stand up for what you believe in when it's not the majority, it's still the way to go. At the rate we are going, our kids are going to become the most confused kids of all time not because of one believe or another, but simply because they don't have a belief period. We as a people are ruining what ever semblance our children have of any convictions!
Yes, there is a new Batman movie in the works. It will be based on the Batman:Year One title. No cast has been slated (Gillian Anderson is rumored to be in talks for a role) and Darren Aranofsky directing and Frank Miller (writer of the Year One comic) screenwriting.
This is scheduled anywhere between 2003 and 2005. It will be much darker, and definitely no POW!! ZAPP!! I for one am looking very forward to this one. It's about time they decided to get that train wreck back on the track.
Not completely true. Up2date by default does not upgrade kernels but you can ask for it to download and install the latest kernel.

You say that you felt sorry for him, but repulsed at the same time.
The movie got a reaction out of you, and apparently a strong one at that. I think that in a way, that was the intention, and by getting that reaction out of you, it accomplished it's objective.
I, too, had many of the same feelings toward Nash. However, by actually having those feelings, I believe the movie was good. If I didn't feel that way towards the character, I would consider the movie "a bad movie".
In essence, I think the movie ROCKED! 'Grats to Russell Crowe and the rest of production for making me both sympathize, admire and loathe Mr. Nash. What a ride.
On one hand, I can see that. But remember the beef that most Slashdotters have with Microsoft: lack of choice = beginnings of monopoly = hell on earth.
I say let each develop and make the best that they can. Fair competition is a good and stimulating environment.
Okay, this is coming from a lesser-experience Linux user so don't flame me TOO hard, but how does this tie (if at all) with Ximian's version of Gnome?
I'm really liking Evolution, and while their desktop is pretty, it seems bare in comparision to KDE's solution. To be able to port more stuff over to Gnome (and Ximian's GNOME), would be wonderful in my eyes.
Now, granted, I may be completely confused and these don't mix at all, so in that case, just tell me to shut up and I'll go crawl back in my hole.
After further review, you are correct. Talk is both cheap, and legal. It was not his talk that was what was bothering Uncle Sam, but "what he was carrying with him".
As for not spelling demonstrate correctly... I'm just an idiot.
Just goes to show (to many people as well as I), that you should get all the facts before you open your mouth.
Sklyarov didn't break ANY law just by coming over here. The government didn't have an issue until he demonstrated an action that DID break a US law WHILE HE WAS UNDER US JURISDICTION.
Now, the issue about whether the DMCA is a bogus law that shouldn't be around, that's a debateable issue. But the fact is, under the current law, he did break the law. The same would be in your case. Abiding by your country's law is fine and dandy while you're in your own country, but the minute you come into US jurisdiction and CONTINUE to abide by only your country's law, you've committed a crime.
I feel for Dmitri and I didn't want him to do time, but legally, he broke the law, plain and simple.
I recently picked up Galactic Battlegrounds and I'm having a blast with it. Sure, it's the same engine as AoE plastered with Star Wars stuff, but the game is very different in terms of strategy. Practically EVERYTHING is ranged based (lasers are cool) as opposed to knocking on the enemies walls and and hacking it down. The introduction of air units also takes out the invulnerability of walls. The Six different civilizations are all unique, yet very balanced. Not having to learn all the nuances of a new style of game makes for quick enjoyability as opposed to spending two weeks just figuring out how to play the thing.
Besides, being able to be the Empire with AT-AT's on Hoth is just plain sweet.
Is it just me, or does the majority of the comments made by the author point out rudimentary common sense ideas?
Okay, maybe we need to sometimes be reminded about these, but I think that (and granted, I haven't read this yet so I can't be TOO judgemental) this book isn't for anyone other than relative web-design newbies.
What's wrong with speedball?? There's nothing like the adrenalinie rush that you get with the sound of all that paint hitting the inflatable/wooden/metal bunker that your behind.
You can't get that kinda rush from a whole case of Penguin mints!!!
Actually, as I've understood it, Episode III isn't even finished YET. The man has been involved with every aspect of Episdoes I and II, which has been an expanse of approximately 8 years.
George Lucas isn't the big Open Source enemy that you let on. ILM has for sometime been using primarily Linux for it's rendering, and has recently begun using Linux for it's workstations. Apparently he supports enough to use it.

Hicks in the ghetto? Isn't that kind of like saying Ethiopians in an igloo?
Whatever.... go to any torrent sight look up a recent game and you'll find a RELOADED cracked version of it.
Paraphrasing a certain deceased Jedi, "What you have been told was true... from a certain point of view."
Actually, the Epic engine code is not a part of the latest release (1.5.0). The next release is supposed to incorporate the latest engine code.

I don't disagree with you that the DMCA is a crock.
However, his talk was a detailed explanation on how to circumvent ebook encryption, and under the DMCA that very act is illegal. He broke the DMCA.
As for the Hollywood thing... yeah, I watched Oceans 11, but that doesn't mean I'm now able to steal 150 million dollars from the Big 3 at Vegas.
Those arguments don't fly.
You're taking this way out of proportion.

In his own words...
"Oh, and the rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated."
What more can be said

He's been a bit busy.

Actually, the chances that DTS will be on there are about slim to none. Lucas has this little thing called THX he'd rather have you listen to.
