1. I use DOM objects, in this case the MSXML free threaded model, to handle xml strings and read out the string only at the last point. 2. I would also suggest using wstring/string in the STL library as you can reserve string buffers in advance in case you have to handle the XML as strings, that's if your using c++, don't know much about c#/java sorry.

samba is a specific implementation(NetAPI), mono will converses ALL base API's..I really dont think anyone will have the time to reverse-engineer inconsistencies introduced by later versions of.NET.
Point 414 in his testimony seems aimed at the.NET and its cloning by mono. If Bill Gates does not want this to happen, is he going to allow mono to go ahead?, I sincerely think not.
I assume it will be possible to hook up your net server/home machine and allow anonymous people stream your music?...can anybody go into the technical details?..sounds like the beginning of something big..legal issues?
