Hey, a response. I think I'm a little late in noticing it.
"Did you threaten to overrule him?" is a pointed and biting question. "Are you dumb?" is a bit silly, and not the kind of question anyone would bother dodging. Most normal people would answer "No." and be done with it.
Only because people dropped off unemployment completely and thus disappeared from the statistics. Had we been counting actual bodies and not just checks we'd still be in the hole right now.
That's an urban legend. Unemployment level is determined by survey.
One of the great mysteries to me is how, with very similar worldwide sales numbers, the Xbox is considered such a success, while the GC is considered a failure.
It's all about trends. The GC didn't sell as much as the N64, which didn't sell as much as the SNES, which didn't sell as much as the NES. You see the downward trend.
Microsoft, on the other hand, is considered to have done "pretty well", considering that they're new to the market, and competed directly against the entrenched Sony juggernaut. The general expectation is that Microsoft will do better with the Xbox 360. You see the upward trend.
Sure, Nintendo made a profit this generation and Microsoft didn't. But the Xbox 360 looks to be cheaper to manufacture than the Xbox (upward trend), and Nintendo might scare away people with their innovative new controller (downward trend).
I'm just hoping the Revolution gets a good healthy library from a large range of developers, and isn't inundated with gimmicky games and Mario Bros XX.
Don't be ridiculous. As history has shown us, it'll be "Super Mario XX" Also: Mario Kart XX Metroid XX F-Zero XX and who could forget, Mario [sportname]
Why do you have to make your business be only about those who own ONLY your console?
That's what I thought too, but there is the issue of cross-platform games. Odds are that most of those won't properly utilize the Revolution controller. Soul Calibur 2 did great on the Gamecube, but the next big cross-platform game probably won't do so well on the Revolution.
Don't mind the haters, Taco. (Though I did think the article was a bit long.)
Also, your name violation probably stood out because of its quasi-famousness. They probably would have left you alone if they new you were the real CmdrTaco, even if that isn't fair to other name violators.
I see violations of the naming policy all the time on my "Normal" server, Eonar. Frankly, there are too many to realistically enforce on all servers everywhere. Those that do get picked out feel (rightly so) that they are being picked on.
IMHO, only Role-Playing servers should have a strict naming policy. The only enforcement on other servers should be for profanity/crudeness. No "IfckedUrMom" or somesuch.
Actually, the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee would say otherwise. They did find that Joe Wilson misrepresented his findings in his New York Times article, versus that he told the CIA directly. (His trip pretty much confirmed that Iraq was seeking to buy uranium from Niger, though word from officials was that the sale didn't go down.)
Furthermore, they found that Joe Wilson's wife, Valerie, did indeed recommend him for the trip.
If MS and Apple partnered, then the iPod would be a 360-compatible audio/video platform. Currently all the PSP is doing sucessfully is portable video -- Nintendo is eating their lunch in the portable gaming arena.
How will we ever do without the US's vaunted, impeccable integrity running the Internet? You know, the vaunted US integrity displayed by their invasion of a sovereign country under false pretences? Or the great work they've done in helping combating racial poverty in their communities? Or the work of their high ranking politicians? Or their work in preventing the spread of fatal disease in Africa?
Wait, so...
The U.S. resumed the Gulf War, after the decade-long ceasefire was repeatedly broken.
Some people constantly look for racism where none exists.
A politician is going to trial instead of bribing his way out of it.
Abortion has nothing to do with stopping AIDS, so record-breaking anti-AIDS funding shouldn't go towards it.
Add that to the fact that the U.S. has been running the Internet's DNS since its inception, and you're both petty and wrong.
Why can't you just keep your own cultural identity instead of trying to be the same as us?
Fark that! I can't wait to start downloading subtitled copies of the arab-language Simpsons.
Heck, if this new Simpsons catches on, maybe certain societies will start to accept that self-ridicule can be both constructive and funny.
You can't keep a human culture under glass, sterile and preserved for all eternity. Cultures grow and evolve -- the strongest ones have no problem taking in new ideas and putting their own spin on them.
I've tried technology similar to the Nintendo Revolution controller, and while I have to say that the usability of the device was surprisingly good, it still seemed too imprecise and laggy to use in an actual game.
Perhaps Nintendo can refine it further, but this is a $200 device I was testing out. I'll wait for preliminary reviews before making a purchase.
Enders game is the only book of his I read, but if you asked me his political position after that I would have come up with rightwing authoritarian.
The cold manipulation of Ender in "Ender's Game" is hardly high praise for militarism. And the following three books in the series are actually even more anti-war and "liberal". (It is revealed that annihilating the "bugs" was wrong, for example, and Ender goes from being famous to being infamous.)
Not that I'd describe Card as authoritarian anyways.

Because all the governments of the world are as reasonable and democratic as Canada's, right?
Naive.
Is it just me, or is that a question a 5-year-old would ask?
Quality political discourse, indeed.
Actually, I thought that was only the case in the U.S., and that Canada has much looser libel laws.
Just read your H2 site, and I have to say: Jesus Christ what a big baby you are.
Go find a worthy cause to get all pissy over.

What, you think they'll start talking after 5 rounds of free beer?
The New York Times and the Washington Post have lost their press access?
Or did you mean that both papers have never been critical of the current administration?
Sorry, those have been downgraded to "writers" and "googlers".
Don't act silly, he clearly means 'everyone who has a PS3 dev kit'.
You're right that the dev kits are still beta, but you have to realise that the launch titles are being developed right now.

I link to that post because I consider it funny and stupid. It is not to be taken seriously. :-)
Waah waah waah, the big mean admins won't post stories that you like? Take your ball and go home.
"CmdrTaco" certainly is quasi-famous, in the circles we're talking about.
And I merely pointed out that he could have received unfair preferential treatment, and may still get it yet.

Yeah, this new style makes me feel... Violated.

I have a hard time believing that ANY industry in France isn't government subsidized, to some extent.
Not saying that's bad, just saying that you're probably paying more than 30 Euros a month.
