That reminds me of when I was watching the Presidential debates with my roommate. He would get so upset everytime Bush would say anything. He said some fairly mean spirited things to say the least. I had to say "Be quiet! The TV is on. . . they can hear us!"
The article cited three things that Internet use causes people to cut back time doing. The largest was face-to-face socializing. Television viewing came in second and last was sleep. Although the summary made it seem that television viewing and socializing were equated, that was not the case in the article.
OK, I want back and RTFA. TV viewing is not socializing, just something that loses time to online activities along with face-to-face socializing and sleep. This I can see. I do not think that the loss of television viewing is something that should be mourned though.
What's worse, is that following up on email is supposedly less social than watching TV. So communicating with another person, albeit not present is anti-social. Sitting and communcated at is social. Hmm. I really need one of those Newspeak-English dictionaries.
Except that Linus Torvalds recently moved to Oregon didn't he? If something were to take out an area the size of Texas on Washington. Oregon and Idaho would be destroyed and parts of California, British Columbia and Nevada would be gone as well. Not so conveniant after all.
I wish I could say you were, but the entry immediately prior to yours also mentioned it. Even if I had mod points I wouldn't count this as redundant though as people have similar thoughts at roughly the same time all the time.
I used to listen to Howard Stern on my way to seminary. Does that count? I wasn't offended though, only mildly amused. I mean all the morning radio guys were trying to be LIKE Stern so why not just listen to the original?;-)
I don't agree with your statement. People who steal software aren't doing it to make a profit thus they see no value in it. They are stealing the software for various reasons known only to them...
When I buy bread, I don't profit, in fact I lose money, but that doesn't mean that there is no or negative value in bread. If I were to steal bread it wouldn't be because I find it to be without value. The "infringers" do find the game something of value, a certain amount of entertainment value. Maybe not as much as what's on the price tag, but playing a game is neither a necessity nor basic right. Therefore, if they can't or don't want to pay, they can and should live without. There's are plenty of free games they can play.
In Ann Arbor, I've seen shirts with the Harvard logo on it, with the name Harvard arcoss the top, but the shirt is in maize and blue and the caption reads "The Michigan of the East."
I hope you are trying to be funny, but for the benefit of those who may not get it, Disney was formed by brothers Walter E. and Roy O. Disney. One of whom would be the "father" (Roy) and the other the "uncle" (Walt) of Roy E. Disney.

In the unpopular media, like NPR. Most of us don't like our beautiful, rich or storied culture. Most of our cultured folk spend most of their time in England going from college chapel to college chapel to discern the best choral evensong.
So basically we need to dig our moon bases into the ground, because if they have walls, suddenly you're impeding the free access of vehicles and the like to parts of the moon.
"I'm sorry, you can't drive through our dining hall." "But the treaty says . . . !"
Must have used that same revolving door that Agent Smith used to get to Middle Earth.
First thing I thought when I read about a peel off bra was liquid latex . . . growl! ;-)

But searching for it meant I wasn't the first to reply. :-(
There are other stories related to this device that the original poster can search for though.
Did you grow up in Russia?
Seriously though, although I was interested in Russia and Russian history, even took a trip there in 1989, I didn't learn much about it in school.

Oh calm down. . . the pre-cogs will get your neighbor before he has a chance to swing the scissors.
Nope, it's only necessary for interesting life.
Now I'm waiting because I've tried three times to post but keep getting bounced by the 20 second timer. There that should work.
Yeah, that's why I have a tiny camp stove called the "Pocket Rocket." *snicker*

Yeah, if you like Earl Grey made of ground up garbage and some unknown goop.

I always thought he got it from the AT&T logo, or was that vice versa? ;-)
I've gone back and forth and I don't see that. What I see in the original post is 417mm = 16.4 inches. I'll look again.
to everyone who came out to show their support for us and who defended us when everyone was calling us fags.
One takes pride in being gay, but if you try to use "fag" positively you'd better darn well be queer yourself!
