    It is rolling out. It's just Google's typical and annoying incremental rollout, so you may not be selected to receive the app for a few days.

    I use my tablet for basic document and spreadsheet editing and for email, but most of the time I don't use it for "productive" work. Why is that a requirement? For web and media browsing is great. And did you really just say playing video games counts as productive work?

    A laptop is not in any way the best tablet because it has a keyboard that gets in the way, is heavier, runs hotter, and is just less convenient for the kinds of things I use a tablet for. That's why my old lightweight laptop has been collecting dust since I got my tablet.

    This is exactly right. Math is not arithmetic, that is a very minor part of it.

  5. And what was the actual impact of most of those? Even the dreaded Three Mile Island didn't expose most people to more than a chest x-ray's worth of radiation. And how many of these accidents were caused by old reactor designs that have no relevance to modern reactors?

  6. No "to nuke" is a verb which is mostly associated with microwaving food (at least here in the states). This is not the same as "nukes", a noun which typically refers to nuclear weapons.

    Doesn't make a difference. It's a torrent so you're illegally distributing the movie at the same time that you're watching it. The distribution part is what is likely to get you in trouble anyway, lawyers usually don't care about people who are just downloading.

    When was the last time you put a ball in a bowl of water? I just tried it with a ping pong ball and the ball didn't roll at all. Even with the water running.

    Personally, I don't know why FAT is even used on SD cards in the first place. Lots of other file systems out there. For example some that are specific to flash

    FAT has r/w support on every OS you can reasonably expect to encounter.

    The problem is that your OTP needs to be random and text is far from random. A lot of things are known about the data in text, such as the range of possible byte values and the frequency with which different characters are used. These sorts of problems will make your encrypted text extremely vulnerable to statistical analysis.

    No, what he was doing is nothing at all like the intelligence demonstrated by John Searle's example. When Nigel carries on a conversation with someone who only speaks French without having any awareness of what he was actually saying then we can talk.
