Seems to me only sociopaths would really consider killing of any sort fun, and yet most people can enjoy a game with killing as the main objective because they know it's not real. I'm sure a game from a "terrorists" perspective would cause a political uproar, but it could also make for a really good game.
Funny, my Android phone does the same exact thing and it uses a standard USB micro interface. You need a special plug to get the full 1000ma charging, but it can use regular plugs too and charge at 500ma without frying anything.
Who says anything about trusting them to healthcare right? I fully expect that any government healthcare system would be open and accountable to the public.
You can actually punish the criminals without sensationalizing it and causing the public undue harm.
And how exactly would that happen? The US military sure as hell wasn't going to take the initiative to punish anyone, they knew about it the whole time without doing a thing. And the journalists with the pictures obviously can't just punish anyone themselves. The only thing they can do is inform the public, and that's what they did.
The flaw in your analogy is that the server password file in Slashdot only contains passwords (or password hashes hopefully). If the password file was also where the editors stored posts that they removed because they were embarrassing or legally questionable then you might be onto something.
The rules are different at the border. Until you pass the border, they can detain you without arresting you, and they can do so on a mere hunch. You aren't "in the United States" yet, and you do not have your constitutional rights until you are.
That's crap. The constitution limits the power of the government. It doesn't matter who they are dealing with, or where. If a person is acting as an agent of the US government then the Constitution applies.
This is also why the claims of Gitmo being a legal gray area are also hogwash.
You'll note that the OP was talking about better security for in-person transactions. For IP connections, the one-time use card numbers this thread is all about work nicely.
If they iPhone does things better, how do they figure out when you are in range of a basestation again to turn the WiFi back on? They have to do some sort of periodic polling, just like Android.
It's also worth nothing that many Android users leave there WIFI off b/c Android doesn't power down the Wifi antenna when it isn't being used.
Where did you get that information from? It sounds pretty questionable. According to Google, using wifi is better for your battery because the antenna isn't on as long for data transfers.
When they're old enough they can make the decision for themselves, until that time someone has to make a decision for them. Either decide for them not to be donors or decide for them to be donors, there are no other options.
I remember elementary school, and as I recall it there weren't that many innocent people being murdered. Comparing tattling in the schoolyard to uncovering potential war crimes is just ridiculous. When serious wrongs are being done then yes I do like tattle tails, narcs, informants, snitches, or whatever you would call them. What I don't like are complicit cowards.
Please define "outside of time". To me that is a meaningless statement. Time is how we measure change, if an entity does anything then it is inside of time.
I'm not sure it's more logical to say that the universe created itself than it was created by someone, but to each his own, I guess.
Actually, it kind of is. See Occam's Razor. To elaborate, if the universe needed to be created by something, and that something was God, then God also needed to be created by something. If God didn't need to be created by something, then there's no reason why the universe would need to be.
that's a shortcoming of your carrier not google maps.
I'm not denying that. I'm saying that's a limitation of using Google Maps/Navigation over a standalone GPS.
No, it's not a limitation of using google nav, it's a limitation of using Verizon. I use Google Navigation on T-Mobile and have no problem taking a call while using it.
no way of storing favorites (with three taps I can find my way home or get a list of favorites on my tomtom)
Not true. Go to Menu -> More -> Set Destination and you have a list of options. Recent destinations are at the bottom, Contacts contain addresses stored in your address book and Starred Items lists your favorites. It's a few more than 3 taps, but it's there.
It depends on the data they are using. They started with data they licensed from other companies so that was likely an issue before, however the map data they collected with their street view cars has no such restrictions.
Even easier, how about something like zip ties. Those would be dead simple to attach.
How much waste water could the ISS have? That stuff is valuable, they recycle every drop possible.
Yeah, what is your point? Is there a game somewhere that trivializes rape rooms?

Except that the Constitution sets limits on what the government can do to people, regardless of who they are. Citizenship is not relevant.

How would that change anything? They would still be making the decision when it mattered.
Taking away my choice to consent to a procedure that violates my person harms me.
Your person is no longer. You don't have a me anymore. You're dead. D-E-A-D. Dead. What part of that don't you understand?

If you have more than 1 navigation shortcut, but them together in a folder to save space.

You don't need a lot of routes to get lost. Any number greater than 1 will suffice.
